Deputy Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (Insurance Sector)
A leading insurance company is seeking a Deputy Director of Strategic and Financial Planning & Analysis to strengthen financial performance, drive profitability insights, and elevate data‑driven decision‑making across the organization. This role serves as a key finance business partner, supporting commercial and corporate strategies to enable sustainable and profitable growth.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, with a functional reporting line to the Group Head of Commercial Finance, this position oversees FP&A, Controlling, Profitability Analysis, Business Intelligence, Artificial Intelligence initiatives, Facilities, and core financial reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Strategic and Financial Planning cycle, including annual budgets, rolling forecasts, long‑term planning, and scenario modeling.
• Oversee Controlling activities, ensuring financial discipline, transparency, and alignment with corporate and regulatory requirements.
• Manage the preparation and delivery of financial information reports, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with group standards.
• Drive expense control, monitoring cost performance and identifying opportunities for efficiency and optimization.
• Conduct profitability analysis across products, channels, and business lines, providing actionable insights to senior leadership.
• Monitor investment risk, supporting decision‑making and ensuring alignment with risk appetite and regulatory frameworks.
• Oversee cash flow planning and forecasting, ensuring liquidity visibility and financial stability.
• Ensure high‑quality financial reporting under IFRS and US GAAP, collaborating with accounting and group finance teams.
• Strengthen Business Intelligence and AI‑enabled analytics to enhance forecasting accuracy, performance monitoring, and strategic insights.
• Act as a strategic business partner to commercial, operations, and executive teams, supporting initiatives that drive profitable growth.
• Lead and develop a high‑performing team across FP&A, BI, and related functions.
• Oversee Facilities Management, ensuring operational efficiency and alignment with corporate standards.
• Collaborate with global finance teams to ensure consistency, alignment, and best‑practice adoption across the group.

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven experience in FP&A, Controlling, or Strategic Finance within the insurance or financial services sector.
• Strong expertise in financial reporting, including IFRS and US GAAP.
• Experience in cash flow management, investment risk monitoring, and expense control.
• Solid background in profitability modeling, financial performance management, and commercial finance.
• Experience leading BI, analytics, or AI‑driven financial initiatives is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to act as a strategic business partner, influencing senior stakeholders and supporting commercial strategy.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary finance teams.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and financial storytelling abilities.
• Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, data analytics tools, and enterprise financial systems.
