Morgan Philips Executive Search is seeking a Finance Head for a leading organization in the healthcare sector. This key role will involve overseeing financial strategies and ensuring effective financial management across the Latin America region.
Job Summary:
As the Finance Head, you will be a vital member of the Latin America Leadership Team, responsible for the overall financial controllership activities. Your main duties will include:
- Ensuring robust internal controls and compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
- Providing technical accounting guidance to regional teams.
- Managing cash flow forecasting and supporting treasury activities.
- Driving process improvements and efficiency initiatives while identifying regional expansion opportunities.
- Assisting with system implementations and enhancements.
- Contributing to strategic planning, annual budgeting, and quarterly forecasting.
- Supporting financial analysis and modeling to provide actionable business insights.
- Mentoring and developing finance talent within the region.
Essential Functions:
- Lead the preparation and consolidation of regional financial results, ensuring accurate monthly reporting and variance analysis.
- Oversee all monthly and quarterly close activities, ensuring adherence to corporate policies and delivering high-quality financial reporting.
- Provide technical accounting guidance in collaboration with the Corporate Accounting team to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Support the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts across the Latin America region.
- Collaborate with FP&A teams to promote best practices and contribute to a center of excellence.
- Lead special projects that support management decision-making, including evaluations of acquisitions and cost initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with internal control environments across the region and drive remediation of any deficiencies.
- Develop and enforce organizational policies and procedures to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness.
- Drive process improvements that enhance productivity.
- Participate in ERP system implementations and upgrades.
- Support tax compliance activities and audits as needed.
- Assist with capital expenditure planning and optimization of working capital management.
- Oversee finance controllers in the region and ensure effective management of finance operations.
- Support the ongoing development of finance professionals in the region.
- Participate in additional ad hoc projects as required.
Qualifications:
- Strong quantitative skills and the ability to interpret data into strategic insights.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and strong technical accounting expertise, including US GAAP and SOX knowledge.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in integrating finance functions during geographic expansions or acquisitions is a plus.
- Proven business partnering experience with commercial and operations teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly self-motivated, energetic, and proactive with a commitment to process improvement.
- Strong project management abilities with experience in managing multiple initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of building cross-functional relationships.
- Experience mentoring finance managers, providing guidance and performance leadership.
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
- This position is based in Mexico and will involve virtual collaboration within a team environment.
- Travel (approximately 25-40%) will be necessary for this role, with the expectation to work extended hours occasionally.
- A Sr. Finance Manager or Financial Controller with a minimum of 5 years of operational management experience, including experience in the Latin America region.
- Familiarity with the dynamics of a US multinational corporation in a competitive marketplace is advantageous.
- Comfortable working in a matrix-management structure and demonstrating a hands-on approach in a collaborative organization.
- Cultural competency and fluent in both English and Spanish, with proficiency in Portuguese considered a strong asset.
- Bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree) in business, finance, or accounting, with relevant professional experience.
- CPA, CA, or ACCA qualifications are advantageous.
