About the Opportunity
An established organization operating within a regulated and governance-driven environment is seeking an experienced Compliance Lead to oversee and further develop its local compliance framework.
This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in promoting ethical business practices, managing compliance risks, and supporting the organization in meeting its regulatory obligations. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders while coordinating compliance activities and fostering a strong culture of integrity across the business.
The Role
As Compliance Lead, you will be responsible for driving the organization's compliance agenda, ensuring adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. You will work closely with management and key stakeholders to identify regulatory risks, strengthen compliance processes, and support strategic decision-making.
This role combines hands-on expertise with leadership responsibilities and offers significant exposure across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate compliance activities across the organization.
- Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on business operations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and controls.
- Conduct compliance risk assessments and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
- Provide guidance and support to management and business teams on regulatory and compliance matters.
- Prepare compliance reports, governance documentation, and annual compliance plans.
- Oversee compliance monitoring activities and control reviews.
- Drive awareness and understanding of compliance requirements through communication and training initiatives.
- Support the management of internal investigations and whistleblowing cases where required.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and relevant external partners to ensure regulatory alignment.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of governance, risk, and compliance frameworks.
- Coach and support colleagues involved in compliance-related activities.
Candidate Profile
- Master's degree in Law or a related field.
- Professional compliance certification is considered an asset.
- At least 5 years of experience in Compliance, Risk Management, Regulatory Affairs, or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks and non-financial risk management.
- Experience working within a regulated environment.
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional fluency in French, Dutch, and English.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and sound professional judgment.
- Interest in digital innovation, AI, and data analytics is considered a plus.
