At Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment Mexico, we are currently seeking an Associate Finance Manager for a leading global Japanese pharmaceutical company with operations in Mexico and international presence.
General Function
The Associate Finance Manager will support the overall financial and administrative management of the Mexican operation, ensuring effective control over financial, accounting, administrative, and operational processes. This role will act as a strategic business partner, contributing to decision-making while collaborating with local, regional, and global stakeholders in a highly regulated and rapidly growing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
- Perform variance analysis and financial performance reviews to support business decisions.
- Monitor financial KPIs, cash flow, operating expenses, and profitability.
- Prepare financial reports for local and regional stakeholders.
- Monitor accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial reconciliation processes.
- Coordinate and oversee accounting activities performed by external providers.
- Support treasury, liquidity, and investment management activities.
- Participate in monthly and annual financial closing processes.
- Follow up on sales, collections, and operations related to government business.
- Monitor and analyze pharmaceutical inventory levels.
- Coordinate importation and product supply activities.
- Identify inventory risks and potential shortages.
- Ensure proper controls over inventory and logistics operations.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, corporate policies, and internal controls.
- Support internal and external audit activities.
- Participate in regulatory and tax authority processes.
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives within the finance function.
- Partner with Commercial, Marketing, Medical Affairs, and Market Access teams.
- Support profitability analysis and evaluation of strategic initiatives.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business growth.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Corporate Finance, FP&A, Financial Control, or related areas.
- Experience within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences industry.
- Previous experience in multinational companies is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of government business operations, inventory management, imports, and supply chain processes.
- Experience working with ERP systems (SAP or similar).
- Strong knowledge of FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Understanding of accounting, taxation, and internal controls.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities.
- Advanced English is required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and influencing abilities.
- Ability to thrive in dynamic and multicultural environments.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Regional and international exposure across Asia and Latin America.
