The role will be responsible for providing legal advice and managing the ethics and compliance support to the Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan legal and compliance team, supporting the company’s integration work from the legal perspective, helping to maintain the company’s legal and regulatory compliance framework, and assisting with various legal and compliance-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Document Management: Organizing, managing, and maintaining legal documents and records, including contracts, agreements, corporate filings, and compliance reports.
  • Integration Support: Providing legal support for the Integration works (including LERP project) in assigned sub-regions.
  • Legal Support: Working with business units and the stakeholders to conduct risk assessments on the company’s business operations, to provide practical risk mitigation solutions and measures. Drafting and reviewing contracts or documents with customers, suppliers, distributors, and partners. Providing litigation/arbitration support in close coordination with the business.
  • Compliance Support: Providing ethics/compliance support, enhancing ethics & compliance awareness, conducting compliance training, establishing the ethics & compliance processes, and ethics & compliance advisory support at all levels of the organization. Conducting investigations for compliance cases and ensuring a robust system in place. Reviewing CP-onboarding. Assisting in monitoring and ensuring that company operations and procedures comply with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements in APAC.
  • Safety & DEI: Conducting Legal reviews for the EHS documents and providing legal support for safety issues if any. With the awareness of Inclusion & Diversity during the daily work as a legal counsel. Supporting and promoting DEI cultures in the workplace to achieve the goals.
  • Regulatory Updates: Keeping up-to-date with changes in legislation and regulations that affect the company and assist in implementing necessary changes in internal policies.
  • Meeting Coordination: Scheduling and coordinating meetings including: prepare agendas, and take minutes for legal and compliance meetings.
  • Audit Assistance: Supporting internal or external audits by providing necessary documentation and responses to audit inquiries.
  • Reporting: Preparing and submitting compliance and legal reports as required by regulatory bodies or internal policies.
  • Administrative Tasks: Performing general administrative duties such as filing, photocopying, and managing incoming and outgoing mail related to legal and compliance affairs.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Master degree in law (LL.M), Bachelor of Laws (LL.B), Juris Doctor (J.D.) or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a legal or compliance support role is advantageous. The applicant holding the lawyer’s practice license from Taiwan or South Korea will be given preference.
  • Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to work independently, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Both Chinese and English can be used as the working language. It will be advantageous if the Applicant can speak Japanese or Korean.
  • Knowledge: An understanding of legal terminology, compliance standards, and the regulatory environment. Knowledge of or familiarity with Japanese or Korean laws and regulations would be highly beneficial.
  • Personal Traits: High level of discretion and integrity due to the sensitive nature of documents and information handled.
