This client designs and delivers a wide range of products, software and services based on two core technologies: digital identification and data protection.
With the growing adoption of electronic travel documents and national eID cards, Thales supports border agencies, governments and airports in leveraging technology convergence to achieve seamless, secure and intelligent border management systems. Their solutions aim to:

If you are looking for new opportunities and are ready to join a high‑skilled multicultural team, willing to travel, we are now looking for a Backoffice IVVQM (Java Engineer path) to join our team in Madrid.
Job Objective
Lead the verification and validation activities of solution releases, ensuring quality, testability and compliance with product requirements. Work closely with the Backoffice Technical Leader and collaborate with R&D IVVQ teams to define test strategy, test plans, test cases and continuous improvements. Support Solution Architecture with effort estimations and domain expertise during bids.
What will you do? As a Backoffice IVVQM within Thales, you will:
Bid
• Support Solution Architecture for requirement validation and effort estimation together with the Technical Leader.
• Provide domain expertise when applicable.
Project
• Own the responsibility of defining the test strategy and creating the test plan.
• Validate that requirements are clear, complete and testable.
• Lead and coordinate IVVQ teams during test execution, setting priorities and tailoring IVVQ environments.
• Ensure that deliveries meet required quality levels and follow established processes.
• Approve TQR for qualification, including quality, documentation and deliverables.
Daily
• Participate in product development meetings (SRR, TQR) to understand evolutions and provide feedback based on project experience.
• Continuously improve IVVQ efficiency (automation, environments, processes) and increase release quality by reducing post‑release defects.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of ways of working and team culture within the Backoffice team.
About you
To succeed in this role, you should have:
Technical skills & experience – mandatory
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or computer science.
• At least 3 years of experience creating validation strategies and test plans based on requirements.
• Solid understanding of the software development and validation lifecycle.
• Experience with test automation.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
Preferred / valuable
• Experience with biometric systems (fingerprint, facial, iris, etc.).
• Knowledge or experience in the border and travel domain.
• Experience with test automation frameworks and methodologies.
• Certifications related to software development processes, software validation or similar.
• Familiarity with hardware components or backend system architectures.
• Knowledge of regulatory or compliance requirements relevant to the industry.
• Customer‑facing technical experience.
