Head of Private Banking F/M

Morgan Philips Executive Search has been exclusively mandated to recruit a Head of Private Banking for a well-established banking group, headquartered in Luxembourg and strongly positioned across Europe.

Following the internal mobility of the current role holder, our client is seeking to appoint a senior leader to drive the next phase of development of its Wealth Management / Private Banking activities in Luxembourg.

Reporting directly to the local CEO and sitting on the Executive Committee, the Head of Private Banking will assume full strategic and operational responsibility for this key business line.

The scope covers a dedicated platform of 50+ professionals, including around 20 Private Bankers, delivering a high-value advisory-led proposition to HNW and UHNW clients.

This is a key strategic role, with a strong impact on the bank’s growth trajectory, profitability and market positioning.

Key responsibilities:

• Define and execute the Private Banking strategy, aligned with the Group’s European growth ambitions
• Lead, inspire and further develop a large, experienced Private Banking team
• Strengthen the bank’s advisory-driven offering, with a particular focus on investment advisory, wealth structuring and mortgage and lending solutions, a core strength of the platform
• Drive cross-border business development across selected European markets
• Ensure strong governance, risk management and regulatory compliance in a complex cross-border environment
• Foster close collaboration with the Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) division,

Strategic context:

The Group has ambitious plans to significantly grow its Private Banking activities, notably through:

• Expansion into new European markets
• Increased penetration of existing client segments
• Leveraging strong synergies with CIB and other business lines

The role offers the opportunity to shape and scale a leading Private Banking platform within a robust universal banking model.

Candidate profile:

• Proven experience as Head of Private Banking or equivalent senior leadership role within the Luxembourg private banking market
• Deep understanding of cross-border wealth management challenges and opportunities, notably across the French and Belgian marketsy on the French and Belgian markets
• Solid expertise in advisory-led private banking solutions
• Strategic mindset combined with strong execution capabilities
• Recognised leadership skills and experience managing sizeable teams
• Ability to operate at Executive Committee level and contribute to overall bank strategy
• Fluency in both French and English is required; proficiency in an additional language would be considered a strong asset
