About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Test Development Engineer to ensure the performance, reliability, and functionality of our power systems. In this role, you will design and execute automated test plans for Power System Control (PSC) and Power Management Controller (PMC), utilizing advanced testing methodologies such as Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL).
You will be responsible for validating control algorithms, verifying electrical functions, and ensuring compliance with applicable safety standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Test Planning & Strategy
- Collaborate with design, product, and manufacturing teams to define testing requirements.
- Develop comprehensive test plans covering methodologies, resources, timelines, and success criteria.
- Implement and promote best practices across testing processes.
2. Test Design & Implementation
- Design and develop test fixtures, automated scripts, and test setups for ORV3 Power System PSC/PMC.
- Create detailed test cases and procedures based on product specifications and applicable standards.
- Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of test equipment.
3. Test Execution
- Perform functional and performance testing to validate system functionality, performance, and reliability.
4. Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze test results, including I/O reporting and CPK data.
- Identify trends, anomalies, and potential areas for improvement.
- Present test findings and provide actionable recommendations.
5. Troubleshooting & Problem Resolution
- Collaborate with project lead engineers to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement appropriate corrective actions.
6. Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
- Maintain detailed documentation of test plans, procedures, and test results.
- Contribute to internal knowledge bases, testing guidelines, and best-practice documentation.
Nice to Have
- Experience verifying communication protocols such as I²C, PMBus, CANbus, Modbus, and Ethernet (via PMC) for system control and diagnostics.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- 3–8 years of experience in PSC/PMC and high-frequency signal system testing.
- Proven experience in leading testing projects and teams.
Technical Skills
- Understanding of ORV3 Power System design principles and testing methodologies.
- In-depth knowledge of PSC/PMC functionality and relevant safety standards.
- Proficiency with test equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, electronic loads, and environmental chambers.
- Familiarity with automated testing tools and scripting languages such as C/C++, Python, and VBScript.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with regulatory compliance testing, including UL, CE, and FCC.
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC testing procedures and standards.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools such as JIRA and Bitbucket.
