Backend Engineer (Springboot) - Senior/ Lead

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Senior Backend Engineer/ Backend Lead. In this role, you will work at the core of engineering efforts, designing and building scalable, reliable microservices that power modern digital products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and optimize backend systems that are secure, efficient, and capable of handling high-demand environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop distributed systems and microservices using REST APIs and messaging systems

• Architect and implement event-driven systems to support service-to-service communication

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver key milestones and high-quality products

• Lead technical initiatives and contribute to architectural and design decisions aligned with business goals

• Mentor and provide technical guidance to other engineers

• Ensure backend services are performant, scalable, and reliable in production

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Java or other object-oriented programming languages

• Solid understanding of messaging systems (e.g. Kafka or equivalent)

• Experience with both relational and non-relational databases

• Familiarity with designing and consuming web APIs of moderate complexity

• Hands-on experience with containerized applications and orchestration tools (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)

• Strong curiosity and drive for continuous learning and improvement

• Minimum 6 years of backend software development experience
