Senior Data Engineer (Platform)

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join a growing engineering team and help design, build, and optimise scalable data infrastructure and pipelines. This role sits at the core of the platform, enabling reliable data processing and storage to support modern digital products. You will work closely with engineers, product teams, and data stakeholders to deliver secure, high-performance data systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data infrastructure and data pipelines

• Develop and support distributed systems and data services

• Translate business and technical requirements into effective data solutions

• Support end-to-end data flows, including ETL, data modelling, performance tuning, and troubleshooting

• Ensure data quality, integrity, access control, and governance standards are met

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support analytics, reporting, and data-driven products

• Mentor and support other engineers, contributing to a strong engineering culture

• Analyse large and complex datasets to solve real-world business problems

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong background in data engineering and large-scale data processing

• Experience building and operating data pipelines and data platforms in the cloud

• Solid software engineering fundamentals and experience with modern programming languages

• Familiarity with distributed systems, APIs, and messaging-based architectures

• Experience working with data lakes, ETL frameworks, and data quality monitoring

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team environment

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have

• Exposure to financial or regulated environments

• Familiarity with data science or machine learning workflows

• Experience with modern cloud-native technology stacks
