Position Overview
We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Equipment Engineering Lead to drive the technical execution and lifecycle management of custom assembly and bonding equipment. In this role, you will lead complex capital projects from initial concept through global manufacturing handoff, ensuring that mission-critical infrastructure meets the highest standards for throughput, yield, and reliability. This is a strategic technical leadership position requiring expertise in DFM, risk management, and cross-functional project execution.
Key Responsibilities
-
End-to-End Technical Execution: Lead the technical lifecycle of custom filter assembly and bonding cells, from defining User Requirement Specifications (URS) and managing supplier selection to overseeing fabrication, FAT/SAT, and final commissioning.
-
Capital Project Leadership: Drive cross-functional capital execution from business case development to production release, managing scope, budget, installation readiness, and stakeholder alignment across R&D, Facilities, EHS, and Quality.
-
Process Standardization & Optimization: Benchmark assembly and bonding processes across sites to drive standardization and improvements in OEE, uptime, ergonomics, and total cost of ownership.
-
Risk & Safety Management: Apply DFM and DfMR principles to equipment designs while leading hazard reviews (PHA/HAZOP) to ensure EHS and machine safety requirements are natively integrated.
-
Asset Care & Reliability Strategy: Partner with Maintenance teams to define asset care strategies (PM/PdM, critical spares) and utilize data (MTBF/MTTR) to lead root cause analysis (RCA) and chronic loss investigations.
-
Documentation & Lifecycle Excellence: Maintain robust technical packages, including P&IDs, utility matrices, and validation protocols, while upholding strict configuration control and Management of Change (MOC) disciplines.
-
Automation & Quality Integration: Collaborate with Automation and Quality teams to integrate PLC/HMI interfaces, vision inspection systems, and data collection tools for enhanced process control and traceability.
-
NPI & Manufacturing Support: Support New Product Introductions (NPI) and manufacturing ramps by troubleshooting complex assembly issues and driving sustained improvements in yield and quality.
Qualifications

- Technical Expertise: Proven experience in equipment engineering for advanced assembly, bonding, or high-precision manufacturing cells.
-
Leadership: Demonstrated ability to act as a technical workstream lead, coordinating internal contributors and mentoring junior engineering staff.
-
Data-Driven Mindset: Proficiency in using equipment performance KPIs (OEE, downtime analysis) to prioritize reliability actions and CAPEX improvements.
-
Project Management: Strong track record of owning project schedules and budgets with the ability to escalate risks and communicate mitigation plans to leadership.
-
Collaborative Approach: Ability to partner effectively with Operations and Process Engineering to develop standard work instructions and technician training certifications.
