Finance Manager
 

Our client is a leading international organization seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and process improvement initiatives. Reporting to senior finance leadership, you will play a key role in ensuring financial integrity, operational excellence, and the continued development of the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Oversee and continuously improve core accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense management, treasury operations, and financial reporting.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
• Ensure accurate and timely statutory and group financial reporting in accordance with local GAAP and IFRS.
• Supervise reconciliations, accruals, provisions, and journal entries.
• Coordinate budgeting and forecasting processes and provide insightful management reporting.

Governance, Compliance & Financial Control

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements, and internal policies.
• Coordinate the preparation of statutory financial statements and manage relationships with external auditors.
• Support internal and external reporting requirements.
• Monitor and enhance the effectiveness of financial controls and governance processes.
• Provide technical accounting guidance to internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to cross-functional and transformation projects.

Internal Controls & Audit

• Strengthen and maintain a robust internal control framework.
• Coordinate internal and external audit activities.
• Identify process inefficiencies and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks and improve performance.

Team Leadership

• Lead, coach, and develop a finance team.
• Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure effective workload planning and performance management.
• Support talent development and succession planning initiatives.

Process Improvement & Transformation

• Drive automation and digitalization initiatives across finance processes.
• Support system enhancements and process optimization projects.
• Standardize procedures, controls, and documentation to improve efficiency and scalability.

Business Partnering

• Work closely with key corporate functions to support business objectives.
• Respond to ad hoc financial, accounting, and reporting queries from management and auditors.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, audit, or finance leadership roles.
• Prior experience managing and developing teams.
• Strong knowledge of Belgian GAAP and IFRS.
• Experience in a complex corporate environment is considered an asset.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proactive, hands-on, and solution-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of French and/or Dutch is highly valued.
