At Morgan Philips Outsourcing, we are currently seeking for one of our clients, Thales Sistemas, a national leader in Defence & Security solutions.
This client provides advanced technologies supporting governments, armed forces and global institutions in achieving security, tactical superiority and strategic independence. In Spain, Thales Sistemas specialises in Command and Control systems, Tactical Communications, Radio Navigation Aids and Modelling & Simulation. Based in Leganés, the company leads the full lifecycle of tactical Land CIS solutions with a highly specialised engineering workforce.
Job Objective
Lead the definition, requirements engineering, system architecture and IVV (Integration, Verification & Validation) activities, ensuring that customer needs are accurately captured, implemented and validated throughout the lifecycle of Thales Defence & Security solutions.
What will you do? As a Definition and IVV Lead within Thales, you will:
System definition & requirements engineering
• Lead generation of system requirements from customer needs and operational use cases.
• Define both functional and non‑functional requirements to provide clear product definition.
• Specify, structure and maintain the requirements baseline in alignment with system architecture.
• Prepare accurate technical documentation ensuring full requirements traceability.
System architecture & design
• Design and build system architectures based on identified requirements.
• Coordinate with System Architecture teams to guarantee technical coherence.
• Provide clear conceptual definition of systems, interfaces and constraints.
Stakeholder & customer interaction
• Stay in continuous contact with customers and internal stakeholders for requirement clarity and scope definition.
• Prepare demos, presentations and training materials for internal and external audiences.
• Coordinate with commercial teams to gather baseline product requirements.
Integration, verification & validation (IVV)
• Define and generate test procedures for verification and validation phases.
• Participate in integration and acceptance tests in both lab and field environments.
• Coordinate with development teams to clarify scope and resolve issues identified during IVV.
• Ensure compliance with requirements, architecture documents and configuration management.
Documentation & technical support
• Prepare and review technical documentation including architectures, interface descriptions, integration plans and validation protocols.
• Ensure traceability, configuration control and compliance across the system lifecycle.
• Provide technical support in internal and external technical reviews.
Technical skills & experience – mandatory
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Electronics, Telecommunications, Industrial Engineering or related fields).
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in requirements generation, validation and customer technical interaction.
• Knowledge of requirements tools such as DOORS.
• Knowledge of system architecture tools such as Enterprise Architect.
• Excellent technical writing skills to express requirements precisely and clearly.
• Understanding of waterfall and SCRUM development methodologies.
• Experience in system documentation, integration planning and validation testing.
• Fluent English and Spanish (C1).
Preferred / valuable
• Experience in Defence and Security projects.
• Experience or knowledge in defence product definition.
• SCRUM certification.
• Relevant certifications related to engineering processes.
You must take into account that you should have (or you should be able to get) the Personal Security Clearance to be able to work on National, NATO or EU defence projects.
