Position Overview

We are seeking a highly accomplished and visionary Technical Director / Engineering Manager to lead our aerospace engineering initiatives. This pivotal role involves overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of advanced aerospace and space flight development programs, managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and orchestrating complex project execution from concept through flight operations.

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Core Technical Experience

  • Extensive, hands-on experience spanning the entire spectrum of space flight programs, including system design, hardware development, assembly, integration, testing (AIT), and real-time flight operations.

  • A minimum of 5 years of direct Engineering Management experience successfully steering at least two active space flight development or advanced aerospace-related programs.

  • (Optional / Preferred) An additional 7+ years of deep technical expertise in space flight program design, development, assembly, integration, testing, and mission operations.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Demonstrated success in leading, mentoring, and scaling engineering teams, including a proven track record of managing teams in excess of 10 personnel across all levels of engineering discipline and experience.

  • Proven ability to effectively manage and nurture smaller, specialized engineering squads, fostering high performance and clear accountability.

  • Strong capability to handle multiple complex projects simultaneously, successfully identifying critical paths and executing strategic plans across varied program schedules.

Programmatic & Interpersonal Skills

  • Demonstrable experience in conflict resolution, with the proven ability to navigate and resolve complex technical, programmatic, and personnel challenges.

  • A proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement, utilizing overt "lessons learned" from past missions to optimize current workflows, mitigate project risks, and elevate engineering quality.
