Morgan Philips Executive Search is seeking a Commercial Director to lead the commercial strategy and execution for one of the company’s most strategic global categories. This role is responsible for driving sustainable, profitable growth through an integrated omnichannel vision—strengthening sell‑in performance while elevating sell‑out results through flawless retail execution. The position will play a pivotal role in reinforcing the company as a long‑term strategic partner to its key customers and in fostering a high‑performance, collaborative culture internally.
Key Responsibilities
1. Commercial Strategy Development
- Define and execute the commercial strategy for the category, aligned with global and local priorities.
- Ensure a balanced brand and customer portfolio focused on long‑term equity and profitability.
- Identify market trends, consumer insights, and commercial opportunities to strengthen competitive positioning.
2. Omnichannel Leadership (Sell‑In)
- Lead the omnichannel commercial strategy across department stores, e‑commerce, and indirect channels.
- Build and strengthen strategic partnerships with key customers to secure long‑term collaboration.
- Design tailored initiatives per channel to drive innovation, availability, and category rotation.
3. Retail Excellence & Sell‑Out Acceleration
- Elevate consumer experience through outstanding retail execution across all points of sale.
- Align sell‑out and sell‑in strategies to build a consistent, healthy commercial ecosystem.
- Oversee retail performance standards, visual execution, and promotional deployment.
4. Leadership & Talent Development
- Provide clear direction and a compelling vision aligned with long‑term business goals.
- Coach and develop teams through ongoing feedback and capability building.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
5. Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Marketing, Trade, Finance, Supply Chain, Retail, and Operations to ensure integrated planning.
- Drive alignment, open communication, and co‑creation across functions.
- Connect commercial priorities with corporate, regional, and global strategies.
6. Business Management
- Analyze commercial KPIs (sell‑in, sell‑out, margins, inventory, market share) to enable data‑driven decisions.
- Manage budgets and trade investments, ensuring strong ROI.
- Lead delivery of financial commitments and long‑term sustainable growth.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or related fields.
- MBA preferred.
Professional Experience
- 10+ years in commercial leadership roles within global consumer goods or premium/lifestyle categories.
- Proven experience in omnichannel management (department stores, e‑commerce, indirect channels).
- Strong track record leading and developing high‑performance teams.
- Solid understanding of category dynamics and retail ecosystems.
