At Morgan Philips Executive Search, we are currently looking for a Finance & Controlling Director for our client (chemical industry) based in Zacapu, Michoacan. This position requires frequent travelling to Ecatepec, Estado de Mexico and is a presential role.
The Director Finance & Controlling will be responsible directly for the following areas: Controlling and Finance, Purchasing, HR, and IT for all three sites (Zacapu, Ecatepec, Puebla). Solid audit experience is desired for this position.
General Objective or Mission of the Position
To ensure compliance with administrative, accounting, financial, and tax obligations, both to partners and competent authorities; assuming responsibility for the P&L in the organization, including the supervision of the different teams in the administrative areas, especially finance, HR, purchasing, and IT. As Controlling Director, to monitor and promote transparency and accountability in all areas.
Summary of tasks & responsibilities:
Corporate functions
Monthly financial reporting
Issuance of audited financial statements
Tax opinion
Transfer pricing studies
Issuance of annual tax and information returns
Presentation of the annual budget
Preparation of the departmental budget and its periodic evaluation
Supervision of all administrative areas
Assistance and support in corporate decision-making
Production
Analysis of monthly production volumes and their comparison with the budget
Cost monitoring and optimization
EHS
Monthly best practices program
Logistics
Assistance in handling complaints/information requests
Assistance in determining and analyzing sales volumes and their comparison with the budget
Purchasing
Evaluation of quotes and prices for raw materials, packaging materials, maintenance expenses, projects, etc.
Compliance of policies and procedures and scheduling of payments to suppliers
Human Resources
Oversight of payroll processing and recording
Oversight of withheld tax calculation and payment
Validation of regular and extraordinary benefits and deductions
Staff training and development
Employer registrations and compliance with government authorities
Union relationships
