Overview
We are recruiting an experienced and commercially minded Healthcare Consultant to join a major retail and foodservice group. The role will support the business in developing and implementing health-related initiatives across retail operations, including nutrition & wellness programs, food safety, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate combines healthcare expertise with strong commercial awareness and the ability to translate clinical or regulatory requirements into practical retail solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Programme Development: Design and implement nutrition, wellness and health-promotion programs across retail stores and foodservice operations (e.g., healthier menu options, nutrition labelling, in-store campaigns).
- Food Safety & Compliance: Advise on food safety, hygiene standards and regulatory requirements; support development of procedures, audits and corrective actions to ensure compliance with local laws and industry best practice.
- Clinical & Scientific Guidance: Provide evidence-based advice on nutrition, allergen management and health claims; review product formulations, packaging copy and in-store communications for clinical accuracy.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with suppliers, vendors, regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders (merchandising, procurement, marketing, operations) to implement health initiatives and ensure alignment across the business.
- Training & Education: Develop and deliver training for store teams, chefs and category managers on nutrition, allergen awareness, food safety and customer-facing health topics.
- Project Management: Lead cross-functional projects from concept through rollout—set deliverables, manage timelines, coordinate resources and report progress to senior management.
- Consumer Insight & Strategy: Analyse customer health trends and sales data to identify opportunities for new health-focused product lines, promotions or store services.
- Quality & Audit Support: Participate in internal audits and quality reviews; interpret audit findings and drive corrective action plans.
- Communications & Marketing Support: Work with marketing to shape health messaging, promotional materials and point-of-sale information ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Performance Measurement: Define KPIs for health initiatives, monitor outcomes and produce regular reports with recommendations to improve reach and impact.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, Pharmacy, Nursing, Medicine or related healthcare field. Registered dietitian/nutritionist or professional healthcare qualification is an advantage.
- Experience: 3–7 years’ relevant experience in clinical nutrition, public health, food safety or healthcare consulting. Experience working with retail food businesses, foodservice operators or FMCG is highly desirable.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of Hong Kong food legislation, labelling requirements and allergen regulations.
- Skills: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; able to translate technical information into practical guidance for non‑clinical audiences. Strong project management and analytical skills.
- Languages: Proficient in English and Cantonese; Mandarin is advantageous.
- Attributes: Commercially aware, customer-focused, pragmatic and able to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
