Real Estate Investment Director F/M - Pan-European RE Investment Fund

I am currently recruiting a Real Estate Investment Director for a leading investment management company based in Luxembourg.
This is an opportunity to join a well-established real estate investment platform managing a diversified pan-European portfolio. Reporting directly to senior leadership, the successful candidate will play a key role in defining and executing the investment strategy, overseeing the existing portfolio, and driving value creation across multiple European markets.
The Real Estate Investment Director will lead investment and asset management activities throughout the full investment lifecycle, from sourcing and execution to portfolio optimization and divestment. This position offers significant exposure to strategic decision-making, investor interactions, and cross-border transactions across a diversified range of real estate asset classes.
Responsibilities
Investment Strategy & Leadership

• Contribute to the definition and execution of the fund's investment strategy across Europe.
• Identify and originate new investment opportunities through an extensive network of brokers, advisors, lenders, and operating partners.
• Lead negotiations and oversee acquisitions, financings, restructurings, and disposals.
• Present investment opportunities and strategic recommendations to the Investment Committee and Board of Directors.
• Support fundraising initiatives and participate in investor presentations when required.

Portfolio & Asset Management

• Provide strategic oversight of the existing real estate portfolio to maximize long-term value creation.
• Supervise external asset managers, property managers, project managers, and other service providers across multiple jurisdictions.
• Review business plans, annual budgets, cash flow forecasts, leasing strategies, and capital expenditure programmes.
• Drive asset repositioning initiatives, redevelopment projects, refinancing opportunities, and ESG value-enhancing initiatives.
• Monitor portfolio performance and implement corrective actions where necessary.

Transaction Execution

• Lead the full acquisition and disposal process, including financial analysis, valuation, due diligence, financing, legal structuring, and transaction closing.
• Oversee underwriting models, investment assumptions, and financial projections.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams of legal, tax, technical, and financial advisors throughout each transaction.
• Ensure disciplined investment execution in line with the fund's objectives and risk appetite.

Reporting & Governance

• Oversee portfolio reporting, including financial performance, operational KPIs, valuation analysis, IRR, equity returns, and cash flow performance.
• Prepare and present strategic reports to the Board, Investment Committee, and investors.
• Ensure compliance with internal governance processes and investment policies.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of reporting, portfolio monitoring, and investment processes.

Candidate Profile

• At least 10 years of experience in direct real estate investment, private equity real estate, investment management, or a leading real estate advisory firm.
• Proven track record of leading complex pan-European real estate transactions from origination to execution.
• Strong expertise in real estate finance, valuation, financial modelling, capital structures, and investment analysis.
• Demonstrated experience managing institutional-quality real estate portfolios and coordinating multiple external stakeholders.
• Strong commercial mindset with an established network within the European real estate investment market.
• Previous experience leading projects or mentoring junior investment professionals would be considered a strong advantage.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage confidently with senior management, investment committees, investors, and external partners.
• Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another European language (French, German, Italian or Spanish) would be considered an asset.
• Strategic, entrepreneurial, results-oriented, and capable of operating autonomously within an international environment.
