Business Partner - Energy Transition

A major European passenger transport group is seeking a Business Partner to support its Zero Emissions Transition agenda.

Across Europe, the transition to zero-emission transport is already underway. This shift goes well beyond replacing fleets: it involves rethinking operational models, integrating new energy systems, and adapting the way transport services are delivered. The priority is not only defining the roadmap, but making sure it is executed effectively across diverse local contexts.

In the role of ZE Transition Business Partner, you will play a critical part in closing that gap. Acting as a link between central strategy and local execution, you will help bring plans to life—working closely with operational teams to ensure initiatives are implemented, adopted, and sustained over time.

This is a highly practical, delivery-oriented role, where success is measured by progress on the ground and real operational impact.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the rollout and delivery of zero-emission initiatives, from early-stage planning through to implementation and continuous improvement
• Work alongside local teams to translate strategy into actionable steps that fit their operational reality
• Ensure that solutions are not only designed, but fully adopted and owned by the business
• Support the development and validation of robust business cases, combining financial, technical, and operational perspectives
• Facilitate collaboration between internal teams and external partners (energy providers, infrastructure specialists, etc.) to ensure smooth execution
• Contribute to the development of scalable approaches and common standards, while maintaining flexibility for local adaptation

Profile

• Background in sustainability, energy transition, or zero-emission transport environments
• Strong focus on execution and delivery, with the ability to move from concept to implementation
• Demonstrated experience in bridging strategic intent with hands-on operational reality
• Proven ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders across different countries and cultures
• Solid analytical capabilities, including financial reasoning and business case understanding
• Fluency in English; additional European languages are an advantage
