Software Engineering Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a technically-grounded Software Engineering Manager to build and lead an innovative team developing cutting-edge industrial software solutions. This role requires a blend of strategic leadership and hands-on technical expertise.

The ideal candidate will drive innovation across one or more fields: data analysis, visualization, generative AI, and direct hardware interfaces. As a key member of the engineering management team, you will design and implement the software systems that power our core applications, enabling our customers to achieve the intelligent insights necessary for their success. This position reports directly to the Global Director of Engineering.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of software engineers, fostering a culture of innovation.

• Technical Strategy: Drive the roadmap for AI enablement, infrastructure development, and high-level system design.

• Product Excellence: Oversee the prioritization and triaging of product and system issues to ensure timely resolution and stability.

• Hardware-Software Integration: Collaborate closely with Hardware Engineers to define and implement software programs (primarily in C++) for hardware testing and validation.

• Process Management: Partner with senior engineers to refine software development lifecycles and monitor team progress toward milestones.

Education and Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science.

• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience, including prior leadership or management responsibilities.

• Technical Proficiency: * Experience in Object-Oriented Programming (C++) is highly preferred.

  • Knowledge of low-level microprocessor control and hardware interfaces is a significant plus.

• Communication: Exceptional English verbal and written communication skills for global collaboration.

• Adaptability: A fast learner who is comfortable with international travel (approximately 2–4 times per year between the US and Taiwan).
