We are looking for a Group Financial Controller to join a fast-growing, international software company backed by Private Equity. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role, acting as a key business partner to the CFO and playing a critical role in strengthening financial control, governance, and scalability across the group.
The successful candidate will lead the group finance function, ensuring best-in-class financial reporting, compliance, and control in a multi-entity, multi-jurisdictional environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Control & Reporting
- Own and lead group financial control and reporting, ensuring accuracy, consistency and timeliness.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual closes, including consolidated financial statements.
- Manage multi-jurisdictional statutory accounts, audits and compliance, acting as main point of contact with external auditors.
- Ensure strong accounting, tax and regulatory compliance across all entities.
Accounting, Tax & Compliance
- Act as the group expert on technical accounting, tax and consolidation matters.
- Coordinate group audits, leveraging Big 4 standards and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with local GAAP/IFRS and evolving regulatory requirements.
Cash, Treasury & Working Capital
- Oversee cash management, treasury operations and liquidity planning.
- Actively manage working capital, optimizing cash conversion and financial discipline.
- Partner with the CFO on cash forecasting and funding requirements.
Systems, Processes & Scalability
- Lead the optimization and automation of finance systems, tools and processes.
- Play a key role in system implementations and upgrades, ideally across multiple entities.
- Act as Finance owner of NetSuite, ensuring robust use and continuous improvement.
- Drive standardization and efficiency to support growth and scale.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, develop and motivate a team of 15–20 finance professionals across accounting, control and reporting.
- Set high standards around detail, accuracy, ownership and pace.
- Build a strong finance culture aligned with a high-growth, performance-driven environment.
Business Partnering
- Act as a trusted business partner to the CFO, supporting strategic and operational decision-making.
- Provide clear financial insights to support growth initiatives and scalability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Legal, HR and Technology teams.
Required Background & Experience
Professional Experience
- 10+ years of experience in senior finance roles with strong accounting and controlling exposure.
- Previous experience as Finance VP or Finance Director (not Group CFO) in large, profitable organizations (minimum 5 years).
- Big 4 audit background.
- Proven experience in Private Equity / VC-backed environments.
- Strong experience in software businesses, ideally SaaS.
- Demonstrated experience in growth and scale-up contexts.
- Solid international exposure within multi-entity groups.
Technical Expertise
- Deep technical knowledge of accounting, tax, consolidation and compliance.
- Strong background in financial control and group reporting.
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite.
- Proven track record of financial system implementation and process optimization, ideally across multiple jurisdictions.
