Job Title: Senior Specialist – Insurance & Claims

Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Specialist – Insurance & Claims to manage and optimize the insurance and claims function for an organization operating in Hong Kong. This role is responsible for advising stakeholders on insurance coverage, coordinating claims handling, supporting risk and policy management, and ensuring timely and accurate documentation through to claim resolution.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of insurance and claims management, excellent stakeholder management skills, and proven experience working with insurers, loss adjusters, legal parties, and internal business teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Claims Management:
  Manage end-to-end claims handling, including notification, assessment, evidence collection, submission, follow-up, and resolution.

• Insurance Coverage & Advisory:
  Review and interpret insurance policies/coverage terms; advise internal stakeholders on coverage implications, exclusions, and required actions.

• Policy & Risk Support (as applicable):
  Support insurance renewal activities, policy change reviews, and risk/coverage enhancement initiatives in collaboration with relevant teams.

• Documentation & Compliance:
  Ensure all claims and insurance documentation are complete, accurate, and maintained in line with internal procedures and insurer requirements.

• Insurer / Broker Liaison:
  Act as a key point of contact with insurers, brokers, loss adjusters, and legal/technical external parties.

• Investigation & Loss Assessment:
  Coordinate information gathering, incident reviews, and loss assessment support to strengthen claims substantiation.

• Cost Control & Settlement Management:
  Track claims status and expected recoveries; support settlement negotiation discussions where appropriate.

• Reporting & Continuous Improvement:
  Provide regular updates on claims performance, trends, and outstanding issues; identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience:
  Typically 7–12 years of experience in insurance and/or claims management, preferably within commercial insurance operations, claims handling, or a regulated industry environment.

• Technical Insurance Expertise:
  Strong understanding of insurance policy structures, claims procedures, and claims documentation requirements.

• Claims Handling Skills:
  Demonstrated ability to manage complex claims with multiple stakeholders and deadlines.

• Stakeholder Management:
  Proven ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external parties, including insurers and brokers.

• Analytical & Attention to Detail:
  Strong problem-solving skills with high accuracy in documentation and assessments.

• Communication:
  Strong communication skills in English; Cantonese is an advantage for local stakeholder coordination.

• Professional Qualification (Preferred):
  Relevant insurance qualification (e.g., general insurance/claims-related certifications) is preferred.
