Role Overview
You will provide legal advice and hands-on support on data privacy and cybersecurity matters in a multinational environment. The role focuses on interpreting and applying global data protection laws and supporting the ongoing development and execution of the organization’s privacy framework across different business functions.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct legal research and provide practical guidance on global data protection and cybersecurity regulations, with particular emphasis on GDPR, as well as other major data protection regimes across Asia, Europe, and the US

Advise internal stakeholders on data privacy, marketing compliance, consumer protection, and related regulatory matters, and maintain regulatory tracking and monitoring records

Support and contribute to the organization’s data privacy program by working closely with cross-functional teams

Facilitate the review, update, and implementation of internal privacy policies and guidelines

Develop and maintain privacy-related knowledge management materials, templates, and internal resources

Assist with privacy assessments, including PIAs, LIAs, and Privacy by Design reviews

Manage the privacy/DPO mailbox and respond to ad-hoc privacy and compliance inquiries

Support privacy-related projects, including data-sharing initiatives, regulatory impact assessments, incident response, and privacy assessments for new or evolving processing activities
Requirements

LLB or JD from a reputable law school; LLM is an advantage
-
4–6 years of post-qualification legal experience, preferably including at least 1 year of in-house experience

Strong interest and experience in technology-related legal matters, including data privacy, data governance, and digital or data-driven business models

Excellent command of both Mandarin and English, written and spoken

Relevant data privacy certification (e.g., CIPP) preferred, or willingness to obtain certification shortly after joining

Practical, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders

Experience reviewing contracts and advising Product, IT, Marketing, or Design teams is a plus

Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to continuously monitor and improve processes

Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, international environment

Strong stakeholder management, communication, and legal writing skills
