Senior Field Service Engineer (Automation / PLC)
Job Purpose
The Senior Field Service Engineer is responsible for delivering high-quality technical services to customers within the assigned region. This role ensures system reliability, operational continuity, and long-term customer satisfaction through proactive maintenance, effective troubleshooting, and continuous performance improvement. The position also involves leading local service resources to successfully execute service contracts.
Key Responsibilities
Service Delivery & Technical Support

Act as the primary technical contact for customers, responding to service requests and system issues promptly.

Perform on-site preventive and corrective maintenance for automated and material handling systems.

Diagnose and resolve automation, control, and system performance issues independently or via remote support.

Participate in system installation, testing, and commissioning activities.

Conduct fault analysis and root-cause investigations for hardware and control system issues.
System Performance & Optimization

Evaluate system performance and recommend improvements, upgrades, or retrofits.

Propose spare parts and maintenance solutions to ensure system reliability and minimize downtime.

Support peak operational periods and manage incidents to maintain stable system operation.
Service Contract & Team Leadership

Lead and coordinate local service engineers and subcontractors to fulfill service contract requirements.

Organize internal and external resources to resolve technical issues efficiently.

Ensure service activities are executed in line with contract scope, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Support annual service contract renewals through consistent service quality and customer engagement.
Stakeholder Communication

Collaborate closely with customers and internal teams to implement system changes, upgrades, and optimizations.

Provide technical clarification, progress updates, and professional recommendations to stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree or above in Automation, Control Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.

Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in field service, automation, or industrial system support.

Strong experience in PLC commissioning, troubleshooting, and automation control systems (mainstream PLC platforms).

Experience with automated material handling systems or large-scale industrial automation is a plus.

Good command of written and spoken English.
