Product Line Director – Automotive
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Product Line Director to lead the strategic development and commercial success of an automotive product portfolio. This role will be responsible for end-to-end product line ownership, including business strategy, market expansion, customer development, and cross-functional leadership. Candidates from Product Management or Sales leadership backgrounds with strong automotive or automotive electronics exposure are welcome.
The position plays a key role in supporting senior business leadership, driving sustainable growth, and building a high-performing organization.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Strategy

Define and execute product line business strategy, including market positioning, growth roadmap, and long-term profitability

Drive market development initiatives and identify new business opportunities within the automotive ecosystem

Support business unit leadership in operational planning, performance management, and strategic execution
Product & Cost Management
-
Lead product strategy, lifecycle management, and portfolio optimization

Oversee cost structure, pricing strategy, margin management, and financial performance of the product line

Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure competitiveness and scalability
Sales, Customers & Partnerships

Lead new customer development, key account management, and strategic business negotiations

Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and strategic partners

Act as a senior interface between the organization and external stakeholders
Leadership & Organization

Lead, develop, and manage cross-functional teams of 20+ members

Establish clear objectives, governance, and execution discipline across the product line

Foster a results-driven, accountable, and collaborative team culture
Qualifications & Experience
-
15+ years of experience in Product Management, Sales, or Business Management roles
-
5+ years of experience managing teams of 20+ people, with demonstrated leadership impact

Proven track record in market development, customer acquisition, and business negotiation

Strong technical foundation (engineering or science background preferred)

Solid understanding of the networking, automotive or automotive electronics industry; familiarity with related product supply chains is a strong plus

Experience defining product strategy, managing P&L, and controlling cost structures
