Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented General Counsel to join a leading organization in the technology sector. This role is crucial for providing legal support, ensuring compliance, and managing legal risks associated with business operations in Singapore. The ideal candidate will have a strong legal background in corporate law, commercial contracts, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Legal Advisory:
  Provide legal advice on a wide range of issues, including corporate governance, commercial transactions, and regulatory compliance specific to the Chinese market.

• Contract Management:
  Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements, ensuring that they align with business objectives and mitigate legal risks.

• Regulatory Compliance:
  Monitor and advise on compliance with applicable laws and regulations, ensuring that the organization operates within legal frameworks.

• Risk Management:
  Identify potential legal risks associated with business operations and provide strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  Work closely with business units, including sales, operations, and HR, to address legal issues that may arise in day-to-day operations.

• Dispute Resolution:
  Manage disputes and litigation involving the organization, working with external counsel when necessary to develop and execute legal strategies.

• Policy Development:
  Assist in the creation and implementation of company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Education:
  Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from a recognized institution; admission to practice law in Singapore is required.

• Experience:
  5-7 years of experience in a corporate legal department or law firm, with a strong focus on corporate law, commercial contracts, and compliance.

• Language Skills:
  Proficiency in both English and Mandarin is essential, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Analytical Skills:
  Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to navigate complex legal issues.

• Interpersonal Skills:
  Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
