Job Title: BI Specialist (Macau)

Location: Macau

Overview

We are seeking a BI Specialist to design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions in Macau. This role will support data-driven decision-making by building reliable dashboards, reports, and data models, and by ensuring data quality, performance, and governance.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with BI/reporting tools, solid SQL and data modelling skills, and the ability to translate business needs into effective analytics deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

• Dashboard & Reporting Development:
  Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports for business users, ensuring they are accurate, user-friendly, and fit for purpose.

• Data Modelling & ETL/ELT (as applicable):
  Create and maintain data models, data pipelines, and transformations to support reporting and analytics requirements.

• SQL & Data Analysis:
  Write complex SQL queries and perform data analysis to support metrics, reconciliation, and issue investigation.

• Data Quality & Governance:
  Monitor data accuracy and completeness; assist with data validation rules, documentation, and quality controls.

• Performance & Reliability:
  Optimize query performance and ensure reporting solutions are stable and scalable.

• Requirements & Stakeholder Management:
  Gather requirements from stakeholders, clarify definitions of KPIs/metrics, and document specifications.

• Automation & Continuous Improvement:
  Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes and improve efficiency through automation and best practices.

• Support & Troubleshooting:
  Provide ongoing support for BI products, investigate issues, and manage enhancements or minor changes.

Qualifications

• Experience:
  Typically 3–6 years of experience in BI, analytics, reporting, or data warehousing roles.

• Technical Skills:
  Strong proficiency in SQL; hands-on experience with BI/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar).

• Data Modelling:
  Experience with dimensional modelling and/or data warehousing concepts (facts/dimensions, star schema, etc.) is preferred.

• Data Pipeline Skills (Preferred):
  Experience with ETL/ELT tools or scripting (e.g., Python, SSIS, Airflow, or equivalent) is an advantage.

• Analytics & Problem Solving:
  Ability to define metrics, ensure consistent KPI logic, and troubleshoot data/report discrepancies.

• Communication:
  Clear communication skills in English; Cantonese/Mandarin is a strong advantage depending on stakeholder needs.
