Position: Senior Cost Accounting Manager

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Cost Accounting Manager with deep expertise in manufacturing cost management and strong hands-on capability with SAP. This role will take ownership of product costing, inventory valuation, and cost performance analysis, ensuring financial accuracy while enabling data-driven business decisions. The position plays a critical role in driving operational efficiency, strengthening cost discipline, and supporting long-term planning through budgeting and forecasting. The successful candidate will work closely with operations, supply chain, and commercial teams and will lead key cost-focused initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Accounting & Control

• Oversee end-to-end cost accounting activities, including product costing, inventory valuation, and monitoring of cost of goods sold
• Establish, manage, and continuously improve cost structures and methodologies within SAP, including bills of materials, routings, and overhead absorption
• Ensure accurate cost tracking across manufacturing processes and inventory movements

Analysis & Business Support

• Review and interpret manufacturing cost variances, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions
• Deliver meaningful insights on cost behavior, efficiency drivers, and margin performance to senior management
• Prepare detailed cost, margin, and profitability analyses to support business reviews and decision-making

Closing, Reporting & Forecasting

• Manage monthly and annual cost-related closing activities within SAP, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Perform inventory reconciliations and review adjustments to comply with accounting standards and internal policies
• Contribute to financial forecasting by producing regular variance analyses and updating projections based on actual results and market trends
• Coordinate and lead the annual budgeting cycle for manufacturing and cost centers, including volume assumptions and allocation models

Systems, Process & Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to enhance cost accounting processes, reporting quality, and system integration
• Support ERP-related initiatives and improvements, particularly within SAP cost and inventory modules

Team Leadership

• Lead, coach, and develop the cost accounting team, fostering technical excellence and business partnership
• Ensure clear roles, accountability, and continuous capability development within the team

Compliance & External Requirements

• Provide detailed cost and inventory information to support statutory reporting, management reporting, and audit requirements
• Prepare documentation and reports required for BOI-related projects, including cost structures, local content, and asset utilization
• Coordinate with BOI authorities to maintain compliance and support inspections or audits when necessary

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or a related discipline
• At least 8–10 years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment
• Minimum 3 years in a people management or supervisory role
• Strong working knowledge of Thai Financial Reporting Standards and relevant tax regulations
• Proven hands-on experience with SAP, particularly cost accounting and inventory-related modules (CO, MM, PP)
• Solid technical understanding of standard costing, process costing, and inventory valuation principles
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with financial analysis tools
• Good command of written and spoken English

Preferred

• Professional certification such as CPA, CPD, or equivalent
• Experience within BOI-promoted entities or export-focused manufacturing operations
• Exposure to ERP implementation or enhancement projects involving SAP cost modules
• Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and manage multiple priorities under tight timelines
