Position Summary
The Department Head, Accounting & Consolidation is responsible for leading all accounting, financial reporting, consolidation, and governance activities for the Group’s affiliated companies and new business entities in Thailand and overseas. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, implementation of accounting standards, effective internal controls, and successful setup of accounting operations for new projects and subsidiaries. The position serves as a key business partner to management while driving process excellence, financial integrity, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Oversee the preparation and timely closure of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for affiliated companies and subsidiaries in compliance with TFRS, IFRS, and local statutory requirements.
- Review and ensure the accuracy of General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, and other accounting records.
- Monitor month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
- Prepare management reports, financial analyses, and accounting reports to support business decision-making.
- Establish accounting policies, procedures, and reporting standards for newly established entities and business projects.
- Lead the Group Consolidation function and ensure accurate consolidation of financial results across business entities.
- Review accounting treatments for complex transactions, joint ventures, intercompany transactions, and transfer pricing matters.
- Develop and implement accounting frameworks, internal control standards, and governance structures across affiliates.
- Provide technical accounting guidance to subsidiaries and business units on accounting and reporting requirements.
- Design and implement accounting systems and processes for newly established companies and overseas operations.
- Ensure smooth accounting operations during project startup phases and expansion initiatives.
- Support acquisition, restructuring, and new investment projects from an accounting, reporting, and compliance perspective.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, BOI requirements (where applicable), and local legal requirements.
- Prepare, review, and oversee monthly and annual tax filings.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax authorities, consultants, and regulatory agencies regarding statutory audits and compliance matters.
- Ensure all accounting documentation and transfer pricing records are properly maintained.
- Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes, reporting templates, closing timelines, and financial systems.
- Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls through automation and best practices.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Affiliate Accounting & Consolidation team while fostering a high-performance culture.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across finance, operations, business development, and management teams.
- Perform other accounting and finance-related projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA qualification is highly preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including financial reporting, consolidation, and statutory reporting, preferably within manufacturing or multinational organizations.
- Strong knowledge of TFRS, IFRS, local GAAP, taxation, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven experience in group consolidation, financial statement preparation, and month-end/year-end closing processes.
- Experience in setting up accounting operations for new entities, business projects, or international subsidiaries.
- Background in external audit and internal control frameworks is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business partnering capabilities.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel; SAP experience is preferred.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
- Able to work in a dynamic environment and travel internationally when required.
