Position: HR  Head – Vietnam 


Location: Haiphong, Vietnam
Team Size: 22 direct reports
Reporting Line: Global HR Head (HR VP) & Site General Manager
 


Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced and strategic HR Division Head to lead the full spectrum of Human Resources functions at our Vietnam manufacturing site.
This role is critical in supporting rapid business growth, workforce scaling, and operational excellence while ensuring strong people governance, compliance, and organizational effectiveness.

The successful candidate will serve as a trusted HR Business Partner to site leadership and a key contributor to the company’s regional and global HR agenda.


Key Responsibilities

1. HR Strategy & Business Partnership

  • Act as a strategic HR Business Partner to Vietnam site leadership.

  • Translate global HR strategies into localized execution plans aligned with Vietnam labor regulations and market practices.

  • Support business expansion, productivity transformation, and organizational scaling.


2. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for both Direct Labor (DL) and Indirect Labor (IDL).

  • Drive manpower planning, hiring roadmaps, and critical talent pipelines.

  • Strengthen employer branding and the company’s presence in the local talent market.


3. Talent Management & Leadership Development

  • Develop local management talent to progressively reduce reliance on expatriates.

  • Design and deliver leadership development programs for managers at different levels.

  • Facilitate learning initiatives aligned with operational excellence and leadership capability needs.


4. Compensation, Benefits & HR Operations

  • Oversee payroll, compensation & benefits administration, and HR operations in full compliance with Vietnam labor laws.

  • Ensure compensation structures are competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with regional guidelines.

  • Manage HR systems, data accuracy, and reporting.


5. Employee Relations & Labor Compliance

  • Manage labor relations, employee engagement, and disciplinary matters.

  • Ensure full compliance with Vietnam labor laws, audits, and government inspections.

  • Lead union or worker representative communications where applicable.


6. Culture, Engagement & Organizational Development

  • Drive company culture, core values, and employee engagement initiatives at the site level.

  • Support organizational design, change management, and continuous HR process improvement.


7. Digital HR Transformation

  • Drive adoption of HRIS, AI-enabled tools, and data automation to enhance HR efficiency, insights, and decision-making.


Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related disciplines.

  • Master’s degree or HR professional certifications are a plus.

Experience

  • 15+ years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in an HR Manager / Director role.

  • Minimum 3 years of HR leadership experience in Vietnam, with proven familiarity with local labor practices.

  • Demonstrated experience managing HR operations for 2,000+ employees in Vietnam.

  • Strong background in manufacturing / EMS / industrial environments is highly preferred.
