Role Overview
As a Design Engineer within the SBR Business Unit, you will drive the development and maintenance of new technologies and products. You will lead cross-functional teams through the entire product lifecycle—from business analysis and validation to characterization and production release—ensuring high-quality results are delivered in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technology & Product Leadership

Lead and drive new technology/product development from concept to mass production.

Collaborate with Marketing, PIE, PE, FAE, and FAB teams to ensure alignment with business goals.

Develop and maintain strategic process technology roadmaps for rectifiers and advanced power components.

Proactively research advanced technologies and address patent-related opportunities.
2. Design, Simulation & Layout

Define new product specifications and perform competitive benchmarking.

Evaluate theoretical concepts and device structures through TCAD simulation.

Execute mask layout design, including test structures and Design of Experiments (DOE), to verify device performance and models.

Manage the full mask tape-out process, including layout review and release.
3. Process Optimization & Quality Control

Create and maintain DFMEA, mask layouts, and core process documentation.

Optimize existing processes to enhance manufacturability, yield, and overall product performance.

Coordinate mask/process changes and conduct risk analysis to safeguard product quality.

Partner with PE teams to resolve yield and quality issues through Failure Analysis (FA).
4. Project Management & Stakeholder Interface

Act as the principal interface between Fabs, Marketing, and Engineering teams to ensure seamless process implementation.

Lead regular meetings with foundries to manage project schedules, resolve technical bottlenecks, and track execution.

Provide technical support for New Product Announcements (NPA) and present data-driven insights to management.
Qualifications

Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of semiconductor device physics, layout design, process development, and reliability characterization.

Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of process technologies required for rectifiers and related power devices.

Software Skills: Proficient in mask layout tools and TCAD for process/structure/device simulation.

Project Management: Proven ability to lead complex projects and drive systematic troubleshooting within a team environment.

Soft Skills: Self-motivated, proactive problem solver with strong verbal and written communication skills.
