Company Overview
We are seeking an experienced Optical Transceiver Manager / Director to lead the development, industrialization, and manufacturing scale-up of next-generation optical transceiver products for AI networking, hyperscale data centers, cloud infrastructure, and high-speed connectivity solutions.
The ideal candidate will possess a unique combination of R&D expertise, NPI leadership, manufacturing operations experience, and cross-functional management capabilities. This role will be responsible for driving product transition from development to volume production while working closely with engineering, operations, suppliers, and customers across multiple regions. Key Responsibilities
Product Development & NPI

• Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) activities for optical transceiver products from concept through mass production.
• Drive product transfer from R&D to manufacturing and ensure successful production ramp.
• Collaborate with optical, electrical, mechanical, process, and test engineering teams to define product requirements and manufacturing readiness.
• Establish product qualification plans and ensure product reliability, quality, and performance requirements are achieved.
• Manage engineering builds, pilot production, and production validation activities.

Manufacturing & Operations

• Lead manufacturing readiness assessment and production ramp-up strategies.
• Partner with manufacturing sites in Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, and other global locations to optimize production efficiency.
• Improve production yield, cost, cycle time, and manufacturing scalability.
• Develop manufacturing KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Resolve manufacturing issues and coordinate cross-functional corrective and preventive actions.

Optical Transceiver Technology Leadership

• Provide technical leadership for high-speed optical transceiver products including:
  • 400G / 800G / 1.6T Optical Transceivers
  • Silicon Photonics
  • Co-Packaged Optics (CPO)
  • Optical Engines
  • PAM4-based Optical Communication Systems
  • High-Speed SerDes Interfaces
• Support technology roadmap planning and future product platform development.
• Work closely with customers to understand technical requirements and market trends.

Supplier & Customer Engagement

• Collaborate with key component suppliers, OSAT partners, contract manufacturers, and ecosystem vendors.
• Participate in customer technical reviews and production readiness discussions.
• Drive supplier qualification and manufacturing process optimization.

Leadership & Organization Development

• Build and lead a high-performing engineering and operations team.
• Mentor managers and engineering talent across multiple regions.
• Foster collaboration among R&D, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and business teams.
• Drive organizational excellence and execution discipline.

Qualifications
Required

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Optoelectronics, Physics, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines.
• 10+ years of experience in optical transceiver, optical communication, photonics, or networking-related industries.
• Proven experience leading NPI and manufacturing ramp-up for optical products.
• Strong understanding of optical transceiver architecture and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with:
  • 100G / 400G / 800G / 1.6T Optical Modules
  • Optical Packaging
  • Silicon Photonics
  • Fiber Optics
  • Optical Testing & Reliability
• Track record of managing cross-functional teams and complex product development programs.
• Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.

 
Preferred

• Experience in hyperscale data center, AI networking, cloud infrastructure, or telecom optics industries.
• Prior experience in both R&D and manufacturing organizations.
• Familiarity with:
  • Co-Packaged Optics (CPO)
  • Optical Engines
  • DSP-based Optical Systems
  • High-Speed SerDes
  • Advanced Packaging Technologies
• Experience supporting production operations in Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, or China.
• Prior people management experience at Manager, Senior Manager, Director, or equivalent leadership level.
