Sr. BSP / ROM Engineer (Hybrid)

What You’ll Do

• Hardware Bring-up: Lead the bring-up of new devices, driving debugging and performance tuning exercises across hardware, firmware, and software layers.

• Systems Development: Design and implement drivers and Android services optimized for constrained environments, ensuring they meet rigorous industry reliability and security standards.

• Defect Management: Analyze complex bug reports, manage the resolution process, and provide clear status updates on critical issues.

• Code Quality: Perform routine code reviews to maintain high standards for design and implementation.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with QA teams to develop and execute comprehensive test cases and work independently to solve proactive system challenges.

• Project Delivery: Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality features while working within a global team environment.

Who You Are

Minimum Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years of experience working with mobile or connected devices.

• Embedded Protocols: Proficient in automated testing, build systems, and communication protocols (e.g., GPIO, SPI, I2C).

• Programming: High proficiency in C/C++ with specific expertise in C memory manipulation from a Linux kernel driver perspective.

• OS Knowledge: Strong understanding of operating systems (Custom Android, Embedded Linux, or RTOS) and modern software development tools.

• Communication: Fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese (written and verbal) to facilitate collaboration with global partners and vendors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience with the AOSP (Android Open Source Project) platform.

• Experience working with ARM architectures.

• Knowledge of cryptography (symmetric/asymmetric) and secure key management/exchange.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of EMV standards.

• Experience with POS hardware and specialized retail peripherals.

• Expertise in PCI technology, transaction processing, and retail industry standards.
