The Role
We are seeking a dynamic, versatile Engineer to lead the acquisition of custom manufacturing equipment for a state-of-the-art facility in Taiwan. This role spans the entire equipment lifecycle—including project management, specification development, vendor selection, design, procurement, validation, and commissioning. You will collaborate across functions to deploy assets that increase capacity, replace legacy machinery, meet NPI requirements, and improve quality. Following High Volume Manufacturing (HVM), you will ensure production assets remain in optimal condition and assist with future upgrades.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Acquisition & Lifecycle Management:
-
Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with Facilities, EHS, Procurement, R&D, Maintenance/Reliability, Controls Engineering, and Operations throughout the development, commissioning, and qualification processes.
-
Specification & Design: Synthesize diverse inputs into clear, coherent project specification documents. Use CAD to design equipment/subcomponents and create fixtures for varying form factors.
-
Best-in-Class Engineering: Apply DFM, DfMR, HAZOP, Risk Assessments, and FMEA to deliver elite manufacturing equipment.
-
Maintenance Readiness: Partner with Operations and Maintenance teams to define Preventative Maintenance (PM) programs, including spare parts inventory, frequencies, and timing.
Project & Operations Management:
-
Project Execution: Develop and manage project plans to deliver assets on schedule, within budget, and up to quality standards. Use core project management techniques to report progress to leadership.
-
Floor Optimization: Utilize current floor layouts and new asset specs to optimize equipment integration within the manufacturing cell area.
-
Process Engineering Support: Assist with classic NPI/Process Engineering duties when required, including troubleshooting, failure analysis, SPC, and yield/quality improvement.
-
Team Support: Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to teammates to ensure successful task completion.
