Staff / Senior UEFI Engineer

 

Server Platform | UEFI / EDK2 | Platform Security

We are looking for an experienced Staff / Senior UEFI Engineer to lead the development of UEFI firmware for next-generation Intel/AMD server and AI computing platforms.

This role goes beyond traditional BIOS development. You will take ownership of the Host-to-BMC communication architecture, integrate platform security features, and work closely with ODM/OEM partners to deliver and validate production-ready firmware.

Key Responsibilities

  • UEFI / EDK2 Development
    • Lead UEFI driver and application development using EDK2.
    • Develop and optimize firmware for Intel / AMD server platforms.
  • Host-to-BMC Communication
    • Design and debug IPC mechanisms between the x86 Host and Security Processor/BMC.
    • Work with MCTP, MMBI, I2C, USB, eSPI and related interfaces.
  • Firmware Feature Integration & Validation
    • Drive BIOS-side implementation and validation of platform management and security features.
    • Work with technologies such as I3C Management/Debug and data filtering.
  • Low-Level Debugging
    • Lead firmware issue triage and root-cause analysis across CPU, BIOS and BMC boundaries.
    • Debug platform bring-up and Host-to-BMC handshake issues.
  • Platform Standards & Security
    • Ensure compliance with ACPI, PCIe and SMBIOS standards.
    • Drive implementation of Secure Boot, PFR, Secure Flash Update and firmware integrity mechanisms.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with hardware, BMC, security, validation teams and ODM/OEM partners.
    • Support platform development from architecture through validation and production.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of UEFI / BIOS firmware development experience
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills
  • Hands-on experience with EDK2
  • Deep understanding of x86 architecture, ACPI, PCIe, VGA and memory management
  • Experience with Host-to-BMC communication and SMBIOS/ACPI integration
  • Strong knowledge of Secure Boot, TPM 2.0, NIST SP 800-193, PFR and firmware security
  • Experience with firmware validation, debugging and remote debug tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Intel / AMD Server CRB (Customer Reference Board) development
  • Knowledge of Redfish, MCTP and PLDM
  • Experience integrating UEFI with BMC / platform management
  • Familiarity with AI Server / high-performance computing platforms
  • Experience working with ODM/OEM server manufacturers
