Role overview
As Investment Manager you will lead and own the fund-selection process, from first contact with managers through Investment Committee approvals and ongoing monitoring. You will act as the primary gatekeeper for inbound fund opportunities, prioritising what the team pursues against limited bandwidth, and you will help shape and expand the firm’s product offering. The role requires strong judgement, commercial discipline, and regular travel.
Key responsibilities
- Lead product-level investment cycles end-to-end each year and support product development initiatives.
- Source, map and evaluate top-tier private equity managers across Europe and North America.
- Serve as first-line reviewer for inbound fund approaches and triage opportunities in line with team capacity.
- Perform screening and full due diligence, including financial modelling, reference checks and on-site manager visits.
- Prepare and present robust investment cases to the Investment Committee.
- Monitor portfolio funds, contribute to investor reporting and maintain governance documentation.
- Represent the firm at industry conferences, manager AGMs and targeted networking events.
- Contribute to investor-facing materials and internal knowledge resources (manager insights, market views, research).
Candidate profile
- Master’s degree in economics, finance, business, or a related discipline.
- c.4–6 years’ relevant experience in private equity fund selection or closely related areas (fund-of-funds, secondaries, co‑investment programmes, VC/hedge-fund selection).
- Established network across private markets and proven sourcing capability.
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills, with sound commercial judgement.
- Clear communicator able to explain complex investment ideas succinctly.
- Fluent English; additional European language(s) an advantage.
- Self-starter with pragmatic problem-solving, integrity-first mindset, and comfort making decisions with incomplete information.
