The Commercial Director will design and execute the commercial strategy, lead and develop the commercial team, and actively contribute to business development. The role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on market engagement and requires close collaboration with portfolio management to ensure seamless client delivery.
Your key responsibilities:
Commercial Strategy & Structure
- Shape and roll out a unified commercial strategy.
- Establish clear, repeatable processes for prospecting, reporting, and client development.
- Drive a consistent, disciplined, and scalable commercial approach.
- Lead events and initiatives that boost client acquisition and strengthen brand presence.
- Actively originate and convert new business opportunities.
- Grow and nurture a strong professional network across the financial services ecosystem.
- Spot emerging opportunities and new client segments to fuel growth.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and inspire the commercial team.
- Demonstrate hands-on leadership through visible commercial contribution and wins.
- Foster an entrepreneurial, energetic, and collaborative team culture.
- Mentor junior colleagues to support and accelerate their development.
Collaboration with Portfolio Management
- Partner closely with portfolio management teams to align commercial promises with operational delivery.
- Support the development of consistent, structured portfolio management practices across offices.
- Ensure seamless internal collaboration and top‑quality client service.
Who are we looking for?
- Fluent in Dutch or French with an excellent command of the second language.
- Proven commercial leadership experience within financial services (e.g., wealth management, private banking, investment-related environments).
- Demonstrated success in acquiring new clients and developing long-term relationships.
- Familiarity with portfolio or investment management is a strong asset.
- Coaching, inspiring, and supportive focused on enabling people rather than directing them.
- Strong ability to introduce structure, processes, and discipline.
- Hands-on and flexible, comfortable combining strategy and execution.
- Entrepreneurial, dynamic, energetic, and impact-driven.
- Thrives in environments with autonomy, ownership, and some level of ambiguity.
- Comfortable navigating and structuring “growing-phase” organizations.
- Resilient, mature, and able to quickly build trust internally and externally.
