The role provides independent oversight, strategic insight, and constructive challenge to senior leadership, supporting disciplined resource allocation and value-focused decision-making.
Role overview
The Head of Cost leads the cost governance and sourcing framework across multiple entities and functions. The role ensures transparency, consistency, and forward-looking insight on costs, while setting and enforcing standards for procurement, supplier management, and risk control.
You act as a central point between finance, business leadership, and internal governance functions.

You act as a central point between finance, business leadership, and internal governance functions.
Key responsibilities
- Establish and maintain consistent cost reporting and oversight frameworks.
- Provide clear, decision-ready cost insights to senior leadership and governance forums.
- Lead cost planning activities and embed structural cost drivers into forward-looking views.
- Translate cost information into actionable insights to support prioritization and strategic initiatives.
- Support major organizational initiatives by assessing cost and value implications.
- Oversee procurement and sourcing activities, enforcing structured and competitive processes.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, legal requirements, and supplier risk standards.
- Constructively challenge spending behavior and non-standard sourcing decisions.
- Senior leader with strong experience in cost oversight, financial governance, procurement, or performance management.
- Comfortable operating with senior stakeholders and providing independent challenge.
- Able to simplify complex topics into clear insights for decision-making.
- Experience leading teams in complex, matrix environments.
- Advanced degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Fluent professional English; additional languages are an asset.
