Head of Accounting & Administration F/M - AIFM

Our client is a human-sized AIFM based in Luxembourg, operating as part of an international group with a Milan office. They are looking for a Head of Accounting & Administration to oversee the full finance, accounting and administrative function at group level, acting as the right hand of the Luxembourg Office Director.
 
This is a hands-on role combining operational accounting responsibilities with team management and close collaboration with senior leadership.
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting & Reporting
• Own the full accounting function for all group entities, including holdings, from A to Z
• Ensure accuracy of accounts and manage monthly and annual closings
• Prepare financial reporting for senior management
• Handle internal tax matters for holding structures
• Support fund administration tasks where required (not the primary focus of the role)
 
Treasury & Budget
• Oversee daily cash management, cash flow forecasting and liquidity
• Optimise financial flows and secure liquidity positions
• Monitor budgets, analyse variances and implement KPIs
 
Audit & Compliance
• Manage auditor relationships and coordinate audit processes
• Ensure regulatory and accounting compliance across all entities
 
Administration & Team Management
• Supervise administrative functions (legal, insurance, etc.)
• Manage and develop a team of two accountants
• Act as the link between the management team and operational staff
• Liaise in English with the Milan office (written communication essential)
 
 
PROFILE
 
• 6+ years of experience in a similar role, gained in an audit firm or fund environment in Luxembourg or France
• Strong technical accounting background (balance sheet, closings, audit coordination, treasury)
• Experience with holding structures is required; fund administration exposure is a plus
• English B2 minimum (written)  essential for daily communication with Milan; French also accepted
• Experience with SAGE or BOB is an advantage
