Accounting Stream Leader AP

Location: Warsaw
Work mode: Hybrid (2 days in the office)

Main purpose of the job:

Lead and own end-to-end Accounts Payable (AP) processes across 30+ legal entities, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and efficient delivery, while driving standardization, governance, and continuous improvement.

Key accountabilities:

• Own end-to-end Accounts Payable operations across 30+ legal entities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
• Lead and coordinate daily AP activities, including invoice processing, vendor accounting, issue resolution, and workflow management
• Act as the AP process owner, ensuring smooth operational execution and clear prioritization across teams
• Ensure timely and high-quality month-end closing activities within AP scope
• Manage and oversee performance of BPO providers, including service quality, SLAs, and issue resolution
• Coordinate cross-functional cooperation with Finance, Procurement, and global teams to ensure effective end-to-end process flow
• Ensure strong internal controls environment and compliance with company policies and accounting standards
• Drive harmonization and standardization of AP processes, policies, and tools across multiple entities
• Identify process inefficiencies, control gaps, and operational risks, and lead corrective and preventive actions
• Initiate and lead continuous improvement, simplification, and automation initiatives within AP
• Act as the main point of contact for AP-related matters for internal and external stakeholders
• Collaborate with Global AP BPM and support alignment with group-wide processes, systems, and governance
• Support internal and external audits, ensuring readiness and proper documentation
• Contribute to transitions, system implementations (including SAP-related changes), and process transformations

Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
• Professional accounting certification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, CPA) is a strong advantage
• Proven experience in Accounts Payable, Shared Services, or a similar accounting environment, including leadership or coordination responsibility
• Strong hands-on experience with SAP in the AP area (both operations and reporting)
• Deep understanding of end-to-end AP processes, including invoice processing, vendor accounting, workflow coordination, and closing activities
• Strong knowledge of internal controls, audit requirements, and financial governance
• Experience in a process-driven, controlled environment, ideally with outsourced service delivery (BPO model)
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills in a complex, international environment
• Ability to drive process improvements and implement sustainable solutions (continuous improvement mindset)
• High level of ownership, independence, accountability, and quality orientation
