HR Business Partner & Employee Relations (Interim)
Morgan Philips Interim Management is partnering with a leading multinational industrial company based in the south of Madrid to identify an experienced HR Business Partner & Employee Relations professional. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic international environment and play a key role during an important phase of organizational transformation and business consolidation.
The successful candidate will actively participate in the Employee Relations agenda in Spain while acting as a strategic HR partner to business leaders and operations teams. Combining a hands-on approach with strong business acumen, this professional will contribute to key people decisions, organizational effectiveness, and labor relations strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing employee and labor relations activities across the Spanish organization.
- Building and maintaining relationships with works councils, employee representatives, and trade unions.
- Participating in collective bargaining negotiations and conflict resolution processes.
- Advising management on labor law matters and ensuring compliance with employment legislation.
- Managing disciplinary procedures, labor inspections, and individual or collective disputes.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on organizational, talent, and people-related matters.
- Supporting workforce planning, organizational development, and change management initiatives.
- Driving cultural transformation projects and contributing to employee engagement strategies.
Profile:
- Degree in Law, Labor Relations, Human Resources, or a related field.
- +10 years of experience in Employee Relations within multinational industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Proven experience negotiating with works councils and trade unions.
- Previous exposure to HR Business Partner responsibilities and close interaction with business leaders.
- Strong knowledge of Spanish labor legislation.
- Fluent English.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.

Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations
- Lead the company’s employee relations strategy in Spain.
- Manage relationships with employee representatives and works councils.
- Participate in collective bargaining negotiations, labor agreements, and conflict resolution processes.
- Advise management on employment law matters and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate disciplinary procedures, individual and collective disputes, as well as mediation processes and labor inspections.
- Manage relationships with external legal advisors and labor law firms.
HR Business Partner Function
- Act as a strategic partner to business and operations teams.
- Support managers and senior leaders in decision-making related to people and organizational matters.
- Drive organizational development initiatives, talent management, and workforce planning.
- Support organizational change and cultural transformation processes.
- Analyze HR metrics and propose action plans aimed at improving performance and employee engagement.
Candidate Profile
- University degree, preferably in Law, Labor Relations, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in senior Employee Relations positions within industrial, manufacturing, or multinational environments.
- Proven experience negotiating with works councils and trade union organizations.
- Ability to combine a strategic mindset with a strong hands-on operational approach.
- Experience acting as an HR Business Partner or in generalist HR roles with business responsibility.
- Strong knowledge of Spanish labor legislation.
- High level of English to interact effectively in international environments.
- Influential professional with strong negotiation, resilience, and stakeholder management skills.
