Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting
- Maintain accurate and complete accounting records, including journal entries and supporting documentation.
- Assist with monthly and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Assist in preparing monthly management reports and financial reports.
- Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records.
- Assist with accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and other general ledger activities.
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and outstanding items.
2. Financial Control & Compliance
- Ensure transactions are properly recorded and supported by appropriate documentation.
- Comply with company accounting policies, procedures, and internal control requirements.
- Support annual statutory audits and prepare schedules and documentation for auditors.
- Assist with tax filings, statutory reporting, and other regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors as required.
3. Treasury & Cash Management
- Prepare bank reconciliations and investigate outstanding reconciling items.
- Monitor daily cash balances and assist with cash flow reporting.
- Prepare payment batches and ensure appropriate supporting documentation and approvals are obtained.
- Maintain accurate records of payments and banking transactions.
- Assist with foreign currency transactions and other treasury-related activities as required.
4. Budgeting & Financial Analysis
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Prepare actual vs. budget reports and assist in investigating significant variances.
- Prepare financial data and analysis as requested by the Group Finance Manager.
- Assist in maintaining financial schedules and management reports.
5. Systems & Process Improvement
- Maintain accurate financial information in the company’s accounting systems.
- Assist in improving accounting processes, templates, and financial workflows.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
- Support accounting system implementations, upgrades, and other finance projects.
- Assist in maintaining standardized finance procedures and documentation.
6. Finance Operations & Business Support
- Work closely with other departments to obtain invoices, receipts, and other supporting documentation.
- Respond to general accounting and payment-related inquiries from internal departments and external vendors.
- Assist with payroll-related accounting and reconciliations as required.
- Support the Group Finance Manager and finance team with ad hoc accounting and finance tasks.
- Support regional finance activities and projects as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Approximately 2–4 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Hands-on experience in general ledger accounting, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and/or accounts receivable.
- Experience supporting month-end closing and financial reporting.
- Experience supporting external audits and tax or statutory filings is preferred.
- Experience with accounting or ERP systems such as Xero, QuickBooks Online, SAP, Oracle, or similar systems is preferred.
- Good Microsoft Excel skills, including experience handling financial data and performing reconciliations.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to maintaining accurate accounting records.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to learn and take on increasing levels of responsibility.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese.
- Fluency in English and Chinese; proficiency in other Asian languages is a plus.
