The position will serve as a key legal contact in Taiwan and work closely with regional colleagues on both day-to-day legal matters and broader business initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support on Taiwan-related business operations, projects, and transactions.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including customer, supplier, technology, service, confidentiality, and partnership agreements.
- Work closely with business and operational teams to provide practical legal advice and solutions.
- Support corporate and governance matters, including corporate approvals, statutory filings, licences, and company records.
- Provide legal support on general employment matters, employment documentation, and workplace policies.
- Monitor relevant Taiwan laws and regulatory developments and assess their potential impact on business operations.
- Support regulatory and licensing matters where required.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel on specialized, contentious, or higher-risk matters.
- Collaborate with regional Legal & Compliance colleagues to ensure local practices are aligned with internal policies and applicable Taiwan requirements.
- Maintain legal documentation, contract precedents, and internal legal guidance.
- Identify and communicate material legal, contractual, and regulatory risks.
Qualifications & Experience
- Legal qualification in Taiwan with relevant post-qualification experience.
- Experience from a reputable law firm and/or in-house legal team.
- Experience handling commercial contracts and corporate legal matters.
- Good knowledge of Taiwan commercial and corporate law; exposure to employment or regulatory matters is an advantage.
- Strong legal drafting, research, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Professional proficiency in Mandarin and English, including legal drafting and business communication.
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with regional and cross-functional teams.
- Experience in technology, digital services, financial services, or other regulated industries is an advantage.
