NPI Engineer

We are seeking a high-caliber NPI (New Product Introduction) / Product Engineer to lead our hardware products from the design phase through to high-volume manufacturing. In this role, you will be the critical link between design, manufacturing, and our global supply chain, ensuring that test flows are seamlessly introduced, released, and supported throughout the product lifecycle.

While your primary focus is NPI and Product Engineering, you will have the opportunity to contribute to adjacent areas including test engineering, validation, and quality as our manufacturing team continues to scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive NPI Strategy: Own the end-to-end manufacturing NPI process and serve as the primary Product Engineer for new hardware launches.

• Lifecycle Management: Manage BOM and new part releases through the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process.

• CM Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams and Contract Manufacturers (CMs) to develop prototyping capabilities and transition products to volume production.

• Capacity Planning: Analyze manufacturing capacity and collaborate with leadership on future scaling and infrastructure planning.

• Technical Troubleshooting: Work directly with factory and engineering teams to perform root cause analysis and resolve hardware failures.

• Process Definition: Help define and refine manufacturing standards for NPI, product engineering, validation, and quality control.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of dedicated experience in NPI or Product Engineering (EPE).

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) or a related technical field.

• Mindset: An entrepreneurial, "can-do" attitude with a focus on delivering high-quality results for the end customer.

• Mobility: Ability to travel to Contract Manufacturing sites as required to support builds and launches.

Required Technical Expertise

• Product Lifecycle: Strong understanding of the high-tech product development lifecycle and off-shore CM management.

• Design for Excellence: Proven experience in DFM, DFT, and DFA (Design for Manufacturability, Test, and Assembly).

• Data Analysis: Demonstrated ability to analyze manufacturing test data to improve yields and stability.

• BOM Management: Proficiency with PLM tools (e.g., Arena, Agile) to manage complex Bill of Materials and risk.

• Failure Analysis: Expertise in debugging and root cause analysis of issues occurring at the CM level.

• Prototype Coordination: Experience coordinating prototype builds, analyzing results, and providing critical feedback to design teams.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with server systems, motherboards, and PCIe card manufacturing/testing.

• Advanced Engineering: Experience with SMT process improvement, quality control, and ASIC/silicon development.

• Design Tools: Knowledge of EE design and layout tools (Cadence, Altium) and CAD software (Solidworks).

• Lab Skills: Hands-on EE debugging experience and proficiency in technical writing for manufacturing instructions and deviations.
