Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, solution-oriented Equipment & Maintenance Engineer to oversee extrusion and polymer processing equipment supporting our semiconductor operations. In this role, you will manage equipment deployment, upgrades, and maintenance plans across the entire lifecycle—from early-stage process development and commissioning through to High-Volume Manufacturing (HVM). Working closely with cross-functional global teams, you will ensure high tool uptime, optimal yield, and scalable operational capacity.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Deployment & Commissioning
-
Asset Lifecycle Management: Lead the deployment, installation, upgrading, and refurbishment of extrusion equipment to support new product introductions (NPI) and capacity expansions.
-
Cross-Functional Execution: Collaborate with Facilities, EHS, Procurement, R&D, Controls Engineering, and Operations teams throughout equipment installation, qualification, and commissioning.
Maintenance Strategy & Sustaining Operations
-
Preventive Maintenance (PM): Partner with Process and Quality Engineering to design, refine, and execute comprehensive PM programs, including spare parts management, maintenance schedules, and execution timelines.
-
HVM Support: Ensure long-term operational reliability and uptime for production assets post-HVM, proactively recommending retrofits and performance upgrades as needed.
-
Budget & Schedule Control: Manage maintenance projects to strictly meet timeline, quality, and budgetary constraints.
Process & Quality Engineering Support
-
Yield & Quality Optimization: Support failure analysis, root-cause troubleshooting, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) implementation to drive yield improvements and defect reduction.
-
Documentation & Change Control: Maintain technical specifications, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and change control documentation.
Key Qualifications & Traits
Required:
-
Education: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
-
Experience: 2+ years of engineering experience within a manufacturing or high-volume production environment.
-
Technical Skills: Proficiency in technical report writing, procedure documentation, and MS Office applications.
-
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
-
Communication: Solid command of English for effective cross-functional and global collaboration.
Preferred:
-
Equipment Expertise: Direct experience with extrusion, blow molding, injection molding, or specialized polymer processing equipment.
-
Design Tools: Hands-on experience with CAD software or technical modeling tools.
