Position Summary

We are seeking a senior IT executive to serve as a key strategic partner to the CIO and lead the company’s global IT infrastructure, technology operations, and regional IT service desk functions.

This role will translate the company’s technology vision into a practical global infrastructure roadmap, with a major focus on modernizing legacy environments and driving the transition from on-premises infrastructure to cloud and hybrid-cloud platforms.

The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking with strong execution capabilities, ensuring infrastructure resilience, consistent service delivery, effective technology investment, and a positive end-user experience across multiple regions.

Key Responsibilities

IT Strategy and CIO Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CIO on global infrastructure strategy, technology operations, service delivery, and investment priorities.
  • Translate business objectives into a scalable and sustainable global infrastructure roadmap.
  • Provide executive-level recommendations regarding technology modernization, operational risks, infrastructure investments, and transformation priorities.
  • Support the CIO in establishing global IT governance, operating models, and performance standards.

Infrastructure and Cloud Transformation

  • Define and lead the company’s transition from traditional on-premises infrastructure to cloud and hybrid-cloud environments.
  • Develop cloud migration strategies, including workload assessment, migration sequencing, platform selection, risk management, and cost planning.
  • Lead major transformation programs covering data center consolidation, application and infrastructure migration, network modernization, and legacy-platform retirement.
  • Establish appropriate governance for cloud architecture, security, performance, availability, and cost optimization.
  • Ensure business continuity throughout migration and transformation programs while minimizing operational disruption.
  • Work closely with application, security, ERP, and business teams to ensure infrastructure transformation supports broader business priorities.

Global Infrastructure and Operations Leadership

  • Lead global infrastructure operations across networks, data centers, cloud platforms, servers, storage, endpoint services, and workplace technologies.
  • Establish consistent infrastructure standards, operating practices, and service expectations across regional locations.
  • Ensure the availability, scalability, security, and performance of business-critical systems.
  • Evaluate and introduce automation, AIOps, monitoring, and observability capabilities to improve operational efficiency and resilience.

Regional IT and Service Desk Management

  • Lead and govern regional IT infrastructure and service desk teams across different regions and time zones.
  • Establish a consistent global service delivery model while addressing necessary regional requirements.
  • Define and monitor SLAs, KPIs, escalation mechanisms, and service-quality standards.
  • Improve ITSM processes and end-user experience through standardization, self-service, automation, and knowledge management.
  • Drive the centralization or transformation of regional service desk operations where appropriate.

Operational Resilience, Security and Compliance

  • Establish and maintain Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity frameworks for critical infrastructure and services.
  • Conduct regular DR/BCP exercises and ensure agreed RTO and RPO targets are achieved.
  • Partner with information security teams to strengthen cloud and infrastructure security, endpoint protection, access controls, and vulnerability management.
  • Ensure infrastructure operations comply with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.
  • Identify material technology risks and communicate mitigation plans to executive stakeholders.

Budget and Vendor Management

  • Own global infrastructure and service operations budgets, resource planning, cost controls, and investment prioritization.
  • Develop business cases for cloud migration and infrastructure transformation initiatives.
  • Manage strategic technology vendors, cloud service providers, outsourcing partners, contracts, and SLA performance.
  • Drive vendor consolidation, commercial optimization, and supplier accountability.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 15 years of progressive IT experience, including a minimum of five years in a multinational or global infrastructure and operations leadership role.
  • Proven experience advising or partnering directly with a CIO or other C-level executives.
  • Demonstrated success leading geographically distributed and cross-cultural IT teams.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale transformation from on-premises infrastructure to cloud or hybrid-cloud environments.
  • Experience developing and executing cloud migration roadmaps, including workload assessment, migration planning, governance, security, cost control, and operational transition.
  • Strong working knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, including data centers, cloud platforms, networks, servers, storage, virtualization, and endpoint services.
  • Experience managing global or regional IT service desk operations and improving ITSM processes, SLAs, and end-user experience.
  • Demonstrated ownership of large-scale technology budgets, investment planning, vendor selection, and contract management.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure security, corporate audits, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, and operational risk management.
  • Professional proficiency in English for global communication and executive presentations. Mandarin Chinese proficiency is advantageous.
  • Ability to translate complex infrastructure topics into business value, financial impact, implementation priorities, and enterprise risk.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Infrastructure leadership experience within a complex multinational, manufacturing, supply-chain, distribution, or multi-site business environment.
  • Experience supporting SAP or other enterprise ERP environments during cloud or infrastructure transformation.
  • Experience leading data center consolidation, legacy-system modernization, or global service desk centralization.
  • Familiarity with major public-cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Relevant certifications such as ITIL Managing Professional, PMP, cloud architecture, or equivalent credentials.
