MAKING SUCCESS STORIES HAPPEN

Role Overview

We are looking for a senior-level Test Hardware Engineer to take ownership of ATE hardware development, validation, production support, and optimization. This role will focus on Advantest V93K environments and will work closely with Test, Product, Failure Analysis, and manufacturing teams to ensure stable hardware performance from silicon bring-up through high-volume production.

The position requires strong hands-on debugging skills, solid understanding of ATE hardware, and the ability to lead hardware correlation and issue resolution across multiple production sites.

Key Responsibilities

ATE Hardware Development & Validation

  • Take ownership of new product test hardware implementation and bring-up on Advantest V93K systems.
  • Lead hardware verification from initial silicon evaluation through production qualification.
  • Validate load boards, probe cards, sockets, pogo-pin interfaces, and related test interfaces.
  • Establish hardware stability, repeatability, and GR&R requirements prior to production release.
  • Partner with Test and Product Engineering teams during NPI and production ramp.

Hardware Debug & Root Cause Analysis

  • Investigate hardware-related test failures, abnormal measurements, and production excursions.
  • Troubleshoot signal integrity, power delivery, contact, and interface-related issues.
  • Use laboratory instruments such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, and thermal measurement equipment for detailed analysis.
  • Identify root causes associated with load boards, probe cards, sockets, pogo pins, and other test interfaces.
  • Provide technical support for RMA investigations, lot holds, and yield excursions.

Correlation & Production Readiness

  • Lead correlation activities between ATE systems, test sites, load boards, and laboratory measurements.
  • Develop correlation methodology, acceptance criteria, and release documentation.
  • Review and optimize test limits, guard bands, and parametric consistency.
  • Ensure hardware readiness and smooth deployment to OSAT and manufacturing locations.
  • Support multi-site hardware consistency and production qualification.

Yield & Manufacturing Support

  • Analyze hardware-driven yield loss, contact-related failures, bin distributions, and production trends.
  • Work with Product Engineering and Test Engineering to identify corrective actions and prevent recurrence.
  • Support test time reduction and hardware-related throughput improvement.
  • Drive continuous improvement of test hardware performance throughout the product lifecycle.

Hardware Review & Optimization

  • Review load board schematics, PCB layouts, and hardware implementation with emphasis on signal integrity.
  • Evaluate power distribution, thermal behavior, site configuration, and overall hardware performance.
  • Recommend hardware improvements for multi-site deployment, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with hardware designers and suppliers to resolve design and manufacturing issues.

Technical Leadership

  • Coordinate technical activities across Test Engineering, Product Engineering, Failure Analysis, OSAT, and manufacturing teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
  • Establish standardized debug and correlation practices and promote best-known methods.
  • Track project milestones, technical risks, and production readiness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in semiconductor test, ATE, or test hardware engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with Advantest V93K and SmarTest 7/8.
  • Proven experience in load board and/or probe card bring-up, validation, and production debug.
  • Experience supporting both wafer sort and final test environments.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor test hardware, including:
    • Signal integrity and high-speed signal behavior
    • Power delivery and power integrity
    • Analog and digital measurements
    • ATE resources such as DPS, PPMU, AVI, and HSIO
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capability.
  • Experience working with high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environments.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting OSATs and global manufacturing sites.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor production data analysis and yield improvement.
  • Proficiency with tools such as JMP, Exensio, or Excel.
  • Understanding of test program architecture and its interaction with ATE hardware.
  • Knowledge of JEDEC, AEC, reliability, or product qualification processes.
  • Experience leading cross-functional technical projects.
  • Comfortable working with international teams and managing multiple priorities.
