Key Responsibilities
Supplier Strategy & Management
- Identify, qualify, and manage suppliers for PCB fabrication and assembly, ensuring alignment with cost, quality, and technology roadmaps.
Cost Management
- Lead cost analysis, benchmarking, and negotiation to achieve target pricing for complex multilayer PCBs and assemblies.
- Perform cost modeling and should-cost analysis for PCBAs and key electronic components.
- Drive cost reduction through design-to-cost initiatives and volume leverage strategies.
Technical Collaboration
- Partner with hardware and system engineers during design and NPI phases to ensure DFM/DFX readiness and manufacturability.
- Participate in engineering design reviews and provide supplier input on PCB stack-up, impedance control, and thermal considerations.
- Offer technical feedback to ensure component selection aligns with sourcing and lifecycle strategies.
Risk & Compliance
- Identify supply chain risks including single-sourced components, EOL risks, and geopolitical dependencies.
- Ensure suppliers comply with environmental and regulatory standards (e.g., RoHS, REACH, ISO9001, ISO14001).
- Maintain supply continuity through dual-sourcing and risk mitigation plans.
New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Manage sourcing activities across all product life cycle phases — from prototype through mass production.
- Coordinate early supplier engagement to support time-to-market goals and ramp-up readiness.
- Align supplier capacity and materials availability with production schedules.
Data & Market Intelligence
- Monitor component market trends, lead times, and technology developments relevant to server PCBAs.
- Provide insights on cost drivers, material constraints, and sourcing alternatives.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years in sourcing, procurement, or supplier engineering within the server industry.
- Technical Competencies:
- Deep understanding of PCB and PCBA manufacturing processes (e.g., SMT, BGA, reflow, conformal coating, AOI, ICT).
- Familiarity with high-layer-count PCBs, high-speed signal design, and server-grade component sourcing.
- Knowledge of EMS supplier ecosystems and global sourcing best practices.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and cost analysis tools.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong negotiation and analytical capabilities.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight timelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with major EMS providers and ODMs in the server or networking hardware space.
- Knowledge of supply chain risk management, cost modeling, and total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis.
- Professional certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, or Six Sigma Green Belt.
- Familiarity with global supply base management across APAC, NA, and EMEA.
