Software Director, Edge AI, IOT

We are seeking an accomplished software engineering leader to provide technical leadership and strategic direction for the development, integration, and delivery of embedded software across the full software stack.

In this pivotal role, you will lead the architecture, definition, and commercialization of next-generation edge-AI and industrial IoT platforms—spanning boot ROM, bootloaders, kernel modules, RTOS, NPU drivers, and user-space applications and APIs. You will partner closely with systems engineering, hardware teams, product stakeholders, and tier-1 ecosystem partners to drive platform bring-up, hardware enablement, performance optimization, and end-to-end productization. A strong background working within a leading SoC design house is essential.

Key Responsibilities & Scope of Impact:

• Technical Leadership & Architecture: Lead the definition of software architecture and technical direction for advanced IoT and edge-AI programs, ensuring strict alignment with platform capabilities and long-term business objectives.

• Full-Stack Software Execution: Direct cross-functional development across the entire embedded software stack, ensuring high performance, stability, and quality from silicon bring-up to commercialization.

• Strategic Direction & Financial Accountability: Exert a high degree of influence over key organizational and technical decisions, with direct input into program success, financial performance, and resource/budget management.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with hardware, systems, product management, and external partners to establish technical priorities, resolve complex integration challenges, and align deliverables.

• Organizational Leadership & Mentorship: Direct high-level engineering staff, motivate multidisciplinary teams through technological transitions, and mentor senior team members to foster leadership growth and technical excellence.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).

• Experience: 8+ years of hands-on embedded software development experience across the full software stack, with a proven background working in a premier SoC design house.

• Programming Expertise: 8+ years of professional programming experience in languages such as C, C++, Rust, or similar system-level languages.

• Leadership Experience: 4+ years of supervisory or engineering management experience leading complex, multi-layered software teams.

• Core Competencies: Demonstrated ability to handle complex system-level problem-solving, drive strategic product roadmaps, and communicate effectively with global executive stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 12+ years of comprehensive embedded software development experience across the full software stack.

• 8+ years of supervisory/leadership experience managing large engineering organizations.

• Proven experience in defining system-level APIs and architecting embedded solutions for IP Cameras, Industrial IoT (IIoT), or Robotics.

• Familiarity with advanced RTOS, Linux kernel development, NPU/AI accelerator driver integration, and modern embedded platform ecosystems.

Alternative Minimum Qualifications (Experience & Education Equivalency):

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field with 8+ years of relevant systems/software engineering experience.

• Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field with 7+ years of relevant systems/software engineering experience.

• PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field with 6+ years of relevant systems/software engineering experience.
