The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated, proactive, and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a dynamic project and operations team. This role focuses on managing product and technology transfer projects to Taiwan, specifically targeting equipment installation and maintenance within the semiconductor industry. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment where safety, quality, and continuous improvement are paramount, and possesses hands-on experience with chemical purification or sublimation equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance:

Safety Culture: Drive a “Safety First” culture by performing equipment, process, and behavioral audits; recommend and implement risk-reduction solutions.

Regulatory Alignment: Ensure all equipment and maintenance activities comply with industry standards, company policies, and safety regulations.
Equipment & Process Management:

Installation & Maintenance: Plan, execute, and coordinate semiconductor manufacturing equipment installation. Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to minimize downtime.

Process Optimization: Partner with process engineers to enhance equipment reliability, identify upgrade opportunities, and optimize performance.

Technical Support: Provide hands-on technical support to production and engineering teams to resolve equipment-related issues.
Project & Capital Management:

Technology Transfer: Serve as the manufacturing expert during technology transfer projects to Taiwan throughout the full lifecycle (initiation to startup).

Capital Investment: Submit and justify business cases for capital investment requests, driving the execution of smaller capital projects.

Vendor Relations: Partner with vendors and suppliers to source parts, manage warranties, and coordinate service contracts.
Collaboration & Documentation:

Cross-Functional Communication: Track and report key updates and risks to stakeholders. Communicate across departments (Marketing, Facilities, Operations) to drive results.

Training & Mentorship: Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians on equipment operations, safety protocols, and maintenance procedures.

Record Keeping: Maintain detailed, accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs for future reference.
Traits we believe make a strong candidate
Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

5+ years of experience in equipment installation and maintenance.

Specific equipment expertise required in chemical purification processes, such as:

Distillation systems
-
Sublimation systems
-
Solids purification
-
Process gas/solvent lines and monitoring systems
-
Technical Skills:
-
Strong proficiency with PFDs and P&IDs.

Solid understanding of Control Logic Diagrams, Instrumentation Selection, Valve/Line Sizing, and ERPs.

Deep understanding of Materials of Construction.

Experience with risk-based methods (e.g., FMEA).

Experience utilizing the SAP maintenance module.
Physical & Travel Requirements:

Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds and wear required PPE.
-
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to support engineering projects (<20%).
